Discussion Adam plot hole?

Re watching touchwood. Not sure if this has already been discussed somewhere. Everyone in touchwood forgets Adam and looses 48 hours after taking retcon. But surely Rhys still remembers and could tell them what happened?

Rhys's brain is jelly after all the retcon Gwen feeds him every time she sleeps with Owen. He barely knows what planet he's on anymore.

Let’s be honest, the writing of S2 has aged like milk. I just rewatched it this last week - some good bits, sure, but mostly illogical writing. This is no exception.

The Torchwood audio was a prequel set in the 1950’s. Rhys had no relevance to that story.

I think he only met Adam once, when he came round with Jack to their flat. He asked who he was, but other than that he didn't interact with him at all. With everything going on with Gwen, doubt he really thought about him.

All he knows is Gwen went crazy and forgot him, while all of Torchwood is aware they're missing 48 hours of memory. Combing those two does paint a picture of some kind of memory altering event, sure, but since he doesn't know the specifics they won't ever find out what exactly happened
