He kneeded that

This teenager wouldn't stop kicking a passenger's seat after multiple requests, so the man reclined it back and the impact left the kid injured

People that get upset about seats reclining on flights need to take the train. It’s peak emotional immaturity.

4

u/BarbedCamera420 15h ago

people that get upset about anything on airplanes are wrong tbh. the entire experience is a nightmare and if you can't suffer in silence for a few hours then you a bitch

3

u/F1eshWound 14h ago

I once got pissed off after 20 a somthing year old dude sitting next to me was constantly chewing his nails and spitting them out towards my direction.. right next to me. Entirely my fault for getting upset..

2

u/primefart 14h ago

Unless he was spitting on you it kind of is on you to manage your frustrations. We pay to get packed into a tin can and you get unlucky. No reason you can't ask people nicely to stop whatever may bother you, but you should have no expectation that they will and that your trip should be comfortable.

1

u/BarbedCamera420 14h ago

that sounds horrific and i hope that some day youll find a way to move past that trauma so that you can live a normal life 😂

1

u/Kroneni 2h ago

That has nothing to do with the plane though that’s a rare exception and worth taking up with a stewardess

2

u/8last 14h ago

I like that the miracle of flight is reduced to suffering in silence for a few hours.

2

u/BarbedCamera420 14h ago

we used to be a civil society and people used to feel some shame that motivated them to dress decently and behave for air travel. then the TSA started making people take off their shoes, so air travel became a crocs/uggs activity, and all civility goes out the door when you croc&uggs-ify an assembly of people.

2

u/Kroneni 2h ago

Yeah it’s just not worth getting angry over it

-2

u/Lost-on-Reception 15h ago

It's pretty rude to recline your seats into someone else's lap.

It is the Airline's fault you were ever in that situation, but still, you don't have to make it worse.

3

u/BabyStockholmSyndrom 15h ago

Lap? Being dramatic like that proves the immaturity lol

1

u/F1eshWound 14h ago

I think the problem is that depending on what airline you fly with, it can range from being absolutely a zero issue with plenty of leg room.. to almost getting your knees crushed depending if it's a shit airline. As a taller person, I've seen both extremes. But I do agree with you that people should have the right to recline regardless. But really, on the tighter seating arrangements my knees/femurs wont fit flush with the back seat, and you have to basically spread your legs so that your knees are on either side of the armrests in front of you. Those are awful...

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Lol, barely even an exaggeration.

Getting upset about hyperbole is literally a symptom of autism and BPD, btw.

6

u/inadvertant_bulge 15h ago

It's literally allowed, and if you don't like it, buy first class, take a train, don't fly, etc. I am tall and need those 1-2 inches/angle it provides for my knees.

If you can't deal with people putting their seat back on an airplane that's your problem. Entitlement much?

3

u/Certain_Concern_5109 14h ago

The entitlement is thinking you’re entitled to encroach on the space of the person behind you.

Anyone who’s ever had to sit behind you on a flight probably thought you were an annoying so-and-so.

You do you, but why make a shitty budget flight even shittier for someone when you can just... not?

1

u/Head_Goal_9777 14h ago

Based on that logic let's all shit on the floor because there's no "no shitting on the floor sign". You can nap perfectly fine without being a dickhead and reclining your seat. The space is already small af, you don't have to make it worse for the person behind you just because you can. You're literally the dude in the video but sitting in the front seat, be proud of yourself.

1

u/Vast-Comment8360 14h ago

Nope, you're wrong.

1

u/EngineeringOk6457 14h ago

And you’re the crying bitch in the back wondering if your teeth just knocked out, I know who I would rather be out of the two.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Just two assholes in the video, you could be either one interchangibly.

1

u/primefart 14h ago

No, you are not allowed to shit on the floor. You are allowed to recline the seat you pay for. Terrible comparison.

1

u/Lord_Bamford 8h ago

You are definitely not tall lol. You gain no additional leg space when reclining your own seat but lose leg space when the person in front does.

1

u/nutblaster357 14h ago

reclining your seat doesn't give you more leg room. you should also be against people reclining their seats in front of you and taking up your leg room.

0

u/TheSleeperAwakens 15h ago

You can still recline it into someone’s lap in first class. It doesn’t go as far into your lap but it still does.

2

u/marshaul 15h ago

You can't recline into the persons "lap" in any class.

Do you actually fly, or do you just spend your time practicing entitlement on the Internet?

2

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

When was the last time you flew? Pre-covid?

What airline?

0

u/marshaul 14h ago

I have flown several times this year (mostly United), and the seats were *still* not able to recline 90°.

What an idiotic quesiton.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Yeah, that would be an idiotic question.

Why did you come up with it?

Why not just answer the question I asked?

1

u/marshaul 14h ago

I did answer it, and then I answered its obvious follow-up, and then I gave my opinion on its merit.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 12h ago

No, you hadn't. The question was what airline and when you flew last. I see you've edited in United, so you're probably excluded from most of the cramped regional planes we're talking about.

The only idiot that mentioned 90° was you.

1

u/TheSleeperAwakens 14h ago

Yes I do fly. Where am I practicing entitlement?

1

u/Allout-Okarun 14h ago

We’ve all been there. If you can’t control your emotions over a 3 inch seat lean, you are a bitch. It isn’t rude to use the normal function of the seat that everyone else has.

2

u/Sir_Pigletty 15h ago

Are you not aware that other people exist on this planet 😂 what rule says not to recline your seats

2

u/Pitiful_Cheek_3512 15h ago

If it is hitting someone else’s body! It’s just common courtesy, if I know that I am upsetting somebody I try not to. I don’t aggravate the situation

2

u/Sir_Pigletty 15h ago

The seat in front was no where near his body, that boy had to slid down on the seat just to reach the seat in front with his other knee

You see when he sits up all of a sudden he has so much space in front of him

There’s plenty of room the kid was just acting immature

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

I am aware, that's why I don't need a rule to respect their already limited space.

5

u/Burger_Queeph 15h ago

They recline like 2 inches, theyre really not getting any closer to you.

-1

u/xSir- 15h ago

As someone who's knees are already uncomfortably jammed into the back of the seat in front of me.... yes, it makes a big fucking difference

3

u/CaptainOwlBeard 15h ago

Then why don't you also recline? Then we can both be comfortable. Or, if your legs are freakishly long like me, spend an extra $15 for the emergency row or front row. Then you'll have plenty of leg room

-1

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

1

u/CaptainOwlBeard 14h ago

Also recline. That way the distance is maintained. Or have your boss pay for first class if you're important

0

u/Resshin31 13h ago

How do I recline the only seat available in the back against the restroom on a last minute flight from Cali to Minny on Valentines day? I get it though, I'm just an not important apparently.

1

u/CaptainOwlBeard 13h ago

So to make sure the one guy at the back is only s little uncomfortable, let's make the entire plane uncomfortable? Just don't book that seat.

1

u/Real_Life_Sushiroll 5h ago

That sounds like lack of planning on your part...

3

u/Substantial_Help_328 15h ago

I disagree, I’m 6’3 and have no problem managing my body or emotions over someone’s choice to lay back an inch.

1

u/[deleted] 15h ago

[deleted]

1

u/Substantial_Help_328 15h ago

Make whatever assumptions you want internet stranger, I’ve never made my height other people’s issue to deal with or to make accommodations for. If you have then you’re the asshole not the other way around.

1

u/[deleted] 14h ago

[deleted]

1

u/Substantial_Help_328 14h ago

I didn’t call you an asshole for pointing out your knee caps. I said if you’ve made your height someone else’s problem you are. I’ve done my own fair share of body origami but that’s a me problem and shouldn’t prevent the person ahead of me from using an option included in their fare.

0

u/MadPangolin 15h ago

That's a ridiculous statement, some people have longer torsos, some people have longer legs... you may be in the first category so your knees are not affected. Some of us are not.

And just for reference I always buy the "big" seat or the expanded exit row seats

1

u/Substantial_Help_328 15h ago

I didn’t say unaffected I said managing. Words matter.

1

u/MadPangolin 14h ago edited 14h ago

Okay & I was born with genetic arthritis & immense pain if the seat hits my knees & I'm 6'3" too... other people exist...
Your ability to manage your body & emotions is egotistical nonsense because you're not the main character of reality & your experience is not everyone's.

So however the fuck you manage your body & emotions doesn't matter if someone else's existence is immense pain because the seat hits their knees... I was trying to explain to human variability in bodies, thinking, existence... without being an asshole like you...

1

u/Substantial_Help_328 14h ago

I too live with chronic pain from a host of sources like bilateral L5/S1 radiculopathy from retrolethisis. I’m not here to get in a who has worse pissing contest, if that’s the case you win. The point remains that nothing I have going on gives me the right to dictate what someone else does or feel any kind way because they reclined a seat back and not accommodating me for things they know nothing about.

-1

u/MadPangolin 14h ago

Yes the plane companies give us the right to recline absolutely, I agree, I also can't sit up straight to long by back gives out. So I like reclining seats...

I just don't think we should automatically disregard that their should be some social curtesy to our fellow citizens & humans & think about how some options like reclining should be semi-respectful, otherwise we may lose it...

I’m 6’5”. It’s a very slight difference. Calm TF down.

1

u/nilesintheshangri-la 15h ago

So sit in the exit row where you have plenty of extra leg room. I 100% recline every single flight and always will.

2

u/Iam_McLovin420 14h ago

And that’s your right 🫡

1

u/Extra-Lime00 15h ago

I guess the rest of the world should accomodate you because of your severe handicap?

0

u/Head_Goal_9777 14h ago

The planes should have only one row: the exit row because everyone should book these seats 🤣

3

u/Extra-Lime00 15h ago

It's bat shit crazy to expect someone not to use the seat as intended because you don't like it.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

I expect people not to be assholes because I'm not willing to be one myself.

1

u/Extra-Lime00 13h ago

Your expectation of someone not using their seat as intend is what makes you the asshole.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 13h ago

The seat was already installed in a way it wasn't intended to be. Because of that reclining it now inconveniences the people around you. Expecting good behavior does not make me an asshole.

2

u/CaptainOwlBeard 15h ago

If you also reclined, we'd both be comfortable

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

No we wouldn't

1

u/CaptainOwlBeard 14h ago

Well i can't help the fact that you're habitually uncomfortable and unhappy. Maybe ask your doctor about Wellbutrin?

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Don't project buddy, just learn to respect other people's comfort like you respect your own.

Assholes are the most miserable people there are, it can only get better for you.

2

u/isthis_thing_on 15h ago

" into someone else's lap", so you've literally never flown in a plane before?

1

u/Silly-Afternoon3834 15h ago

Can barely get that bitch into a 95 degree angle

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

I flew all over for work in all the shittiest planes the Air Force could get cheap tickets for.

Older planes are better but new planes have no legroom and you can dump the tray of the passenger behind you, or pin it to their thighs, by reclining your seat.

1

u/Rudy-219 15h ago

Nah blame the airline and don’t pay for one of their tickets. Everyone is entitled to recline their chair if it’s a feature they offer.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

It really shows the measure of a person when you point out they're making other people's lives worse and their answer is "I'm alooowed. What rule says I can't?"

1

u/Mobile-Analyst8580 15h ago

There’s nothing rude about reclining to ease the stress on your lower back. People like you are nauseating. Airplane chairs recline. If you’re flying, expect the seat in front of you to recline.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Expect the worst out of people and you won't be disappointed?

But still, if you do it you're a problem.

1

u/Sesusija 15h ago

It is easier to fall asleep in a reclined seat.

Don't like it? Don't fly in planes.

Or lose some weight. Sounds like that might actually be the issue here.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

You reap what you sow, guy. Be an asshole in little ways and eventually you'll get it all paid back to you.

1

u/400lbGF 14h ago

Go outside lil bro it will be ok

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Just learn to respect other people. Maybe you'll make a friend someday.

1

u/400lbGF 14h ago

Good thing you cant afford to fly anyway so this will never be an issue for you :)

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

You actually thought this disparaged anyone but yourself, Richie Rich?

1

u/400lbGF 14h ago

You’re upset about a guy reclining a seat 2 inches lol

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

I'm not upset at all. I'm pointing out that making other people uncomfortable for your own sake makes you an asshole.

1

u/400lbGF 14h ago

Have You ever been on a plane?

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

Lots of planes, I was an airfield tech.

when people recline the seat in busses or tight planes it presses onto my legs so I have to spread them wider to sit. But I dissagree. If seat designed to recline its not a persons obligation to police how people sit.

More important is that seats are placed so tighlty so it actually can hurt your legs if you not adjust yourself when someone reclining and its a fault of a company who sold this sit to you or a company who bought plane/bus made that way

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

It's a person's responsibility only to police themselves.

In order for that to work you have to be able to empathize with other people.

1

u/Weak-Price7392 14h ago

adjusting your seat have nothing to do with other people.
Its not your responisibility

You are going into margins. Like lets not breathe the air to leave it to the other people?

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 14h ago

You're laying your seat back on them, crushing whatever was on their tray, taking up a significant fraction of their legroom and just generally being an annoyance.

1

u/Weak-Price7392 13h ago

no. Seat is made this way. It has to work in way so it does not crushes stuff or people. It should not be reclinable if only thing it does is to crush stuff and people.
I have used table on the reclined seat in front of me no problem.
Yes when people recline I have less space. But I also will recline to lie down and try to sleep.

You are talking like reclinge a reclinable chair is like trowing shit at people.

Its literally designed to do so.
if it makes things worse- either blame company who made it this way or company who made to have reclinable seats.

you do not blame people for flushing toilet and noise of it being loud? Its how its designed. You dont blame people walinkg on the street that you have to walk around them? Same with seats. Seats are that way because you have a long flight or ride and you need to recline it to sleep or releave back tension.

If you dont like it use other way of transporting.

there are other people and we have to respect that other people need to recline the seat. They payed for the same ticket. They have their own issues so I will never be negative about that. And if you are than its just an egoism.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 12h ago

Calm down, your typos are making this hard to read.

New seats are generally pre-reclined. When you have the option to recline a seat these days it's usually because the airline has taken cheap older seats, moved them up and added additional rows.

Older seats were designed with larger seat pitches in mind. New seats designed for modern sardine tin planes generally don't even let you recline them, unless the airline just doesn't care about passenger comfort.

1

u/Weak-Price7392 12h ago

so take it up to the airline. They could just block reclining function upon installation.

its not people fault

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 12h ago

It's the airline's fault for being cheap and greedy and it's the imediate fault of the person reclining their seat into the passenger behind them for being a selfish ass.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Majestic-Ad-7713 14h ago

Agree with you.

1

u/halaljew 7h ago

The airline is only reacting to the incentives of the current regulatory environment.

1

u/Lost-on-Reception 5h ago

The airlines purchased that regulatory environment and used it to cement their incumbency.

The only incentive causing this behavior is their state enforced monopoly.

1

u/Kroneni 2h ago

No it isn’t. You recline your seat they recline theirs etc.the seats only go back a few inches. Grow up

0

u/griefstricken1 15h ago

lol what are you talking about? They recline for a reason - to use them as they are intended when wanting to relax.

Have you never taken a long haul flight before..?
