It sounds and looks like they're both high AF and on the spectrum and need to handle some issues in the relationship/life skills from my experience.
It's like they've both got that knowledge of how it is somewhat funny and he should be grateful that she's bought him a few household supplies and takeout dinner (that she can't stop herself from also adding that he will need to stretch the extra because he has food money/budget struggles) but in trying to play act it out you can almost hear the slurred speech, slow automatic scripting responses, eyes unfocusing, and muted tone/inability to mask with expressive enough tone to sound silly or joking like they might internally feel - so it winds up coming out reeeeally oddball flat and serious and sounding threatening.
