Maybe a hot take but Trek was at it's best when they told Roddenberry to sit down.

TBH, I would love to see way more hopeful aspirational art that encouraged and rewarded people for being good people.

Sometimes art is about what you want the world to be, it doesn't always have to reflect how ugly it actually is.

Oh I don’t disagree at all. Actually, I’m absolutely fed up with the cynical, self-referential style of most modern cinema. I love cheesy shit. I love sincerity. But I think DS9 managed to have reasonable, realistic cynicism that, I think one could argue, would actually be necessary in such a society as the Federation; humanity in Trek is better, not perfect, so someone harrumphing around the proverbial Promenade to keep the Federation aware of its own fragility would probably behoove them.

The Secret Garden is my favorite movie. It’s all about the innocence of childhood, making friends, and making the best out of a bad situation. It’s a beautiful film.
