Discussion She almost ruined a proposal.

This was at Crescent Bay Point Park, which allows people to book it special occasions.

I'm sorry, were those young Mexicans or were they US citizens enjoying a culture of their choice in a US park?

Maybe it shouldn't matter, but I'm tired of US citizens being labelled as from somewhere else because of their skin tone or cultural choices.

The US is a multicultural nation.  If the US used it intelligently, the US could use the military a lot less, and have a lot more actual influence in the world.

The reason people tend to make the distinction is because within American culture, there are often subsets of culture that are directly affected by your family's ancestry. This is because the US heavily practiced segregation and racism for much of its 250 years of existence. This means that African Americans, Italian Americans, Korean Americans, Japanese Americans, Irish Americans, and so on and so forth, had specific experiences that people who may just call themselves "American" didn't have, even if they grew up on the same street.
