On October 26, 2022, the judge ruled that Walden's contact with Land should have ended when it became clear that Land was not sleeping in the park or in need of assistance, and that the city was not responsible for Walden's actions.

On November 22, 2022, the city settled the lawsuit for $30,000.

So the Assistant Chief, on his day off, didn't like people lying on the ground and called in a harassmentwelfare check.

Honestly, I think it's even worse than that.

The only justification the officer can offer, is that because someone called in, he has to investigate.

Having another officer place the call means even the pretext was fictional.

If that was at all how it worked, they'd just make every car two-up - and have the second guy report what he thinks he saw to the first one.
