Discussion The easiest $30k this guy ever made

On October 26, 2022, the judge ruled that Walden's contact with Land should have ended when it became clear that Land was not sleeping in the park or in need of assistance, and that the city was not responsible for Walden's actions.

On November 22, 2022, the city settled the lawsuit for $30,000.

Politics...I won a $75k settlement because someone in a managerial position discriminated and retaliated against me. They stayed in their position.

It's not just government/police, it's affluent work culture.

My friend worked for a Fortune 50 company. A few years ago, 1 person was responsible for messing up thousands of W2s (twice) which caused them to miss the required delivery deadline, and incurred millions in fees from the IRS.

They let him chose to leave of his own accord (so that he would still get his bonuses), or to take a demotion within his own department but stay on working....in payroll still. Still very capable of f*cking this up again in the future.

Like, what the f*ck else does it take to get fired aside from something like this? Costing the company millions for no reason other than your (1 person's) incompetence you would think would be ONE of those few justified circumstances.

Meanwhile my buddy got fired for violating the return to work requirement. They fired him last month for his stats from Jan-Mar, during which he had no other co-workers that lived at his local office. Since that time, they had given him a promotion and pay increase, and sent him to the Czech Republic to kick off a new project.

And since his new work group was in this office, he'd been going in 5 days a week for months. Fired on the spot, no formal disciplinary action or notice. No severance, and stripped of retirement benefits. Health insurance cut off at midnight that night.

For the sin of.....not helping them justify their own shitty real-estate expenditures. The reality is, it was for making the CEO look stupid and nothing else. He's in contact with an attorney.

Not true. The 30k was paid by an insurance company.
