I wonder if she’s looked into using the gofundme money to buy a generator. Sounds like the campaign has raised enough money to anger neighbors into wanting a piece of it. Surely a couple hundred of that could go to a generator. Heck maybe even a whole home gennie

She's been doxed by angry people in a high crime hood.  Even if that weren't the case you don't want to be the one have in a sea of have nots.  Can you imagine looking outside and its pitch black for miles in every direction except the one house that has lights on

Yeah and generators are usually LOUD; even if they snuck around in the dark to stand out less visually speaking, people would hear that thing roaring, especially since everywhere else would be so quiet. I wouldn't buy anything I couldn't hide.

Hammond had boatloads of them running.

My Portage, Griffith and Munster friends all had them but the gas logistics seemed like a pain in the ass.

Yes when we had the winter freeze in texas we got generators. It was around 1400 but well worth it. We were also able to use it for a tropical storm last year.

As someone that was a victim of this blackout for 6 days, generators can help but are still a shitty solution. They constantly need to be fed gas, they need their oil changed every 50 hours so basically every 2 days of running, and even if you have the proper hookups to connect to your breaker(most people don’t have this) they still don’t have enough strength to power your central air. It was like 90 degrees with 100% humidity for days so it certainly sucked
