Question Does anyone else get way too invested in side character storylines?

I just realized I've spent like 20 hours doing random NPC quests in my current playthrough instead of progressing the main story. The side characters honestly have better development than some of the main cast. Am I alone in this or does everyone do this?

oh you're definitely not alone. I once spent an entire weekend in Novigrad just doing random quests and talking to every NPC I could find. The main story was sitting there waiting and I genuinely did not care. Some games just nail the small stories way better than the big epic one.

Lol... that really depends on the game. Something like Onimusha... no, the side content is very fetch questy and generic. KCD or Witcher... I go out of my way to find side content.
