Heyyy, Im gonna get my first xax 20th edition soon, yayyyy. Anyway, for those you have installed steamos on the xax:

- is everything okay? Anything not working? Like sound, tdp setting, light… anything thats need a plugin from decky?
- is the sleep wake works fine?

-!!! Do you need window to update driver? Or do you need to update everything on window before install steamos?

I have been using dualboot for bazzite and window for some handhleds but because I dont want to crack up the xax just to upgrade the ssd, so I preffer wipe out the window completely, is it okay to do that?

On your first boot you want to let Windows do all the initialization updates.

Sound is slightly worse on speakers, tdp needs the SimpleDeckyTDP plugin, and lights need the HueSync plugin.

Sleep and wake works great.

I can control tdp through the SteamOS QAM. I set it to performance mode then enabled TDP control. Or is it different between the ally x and xax?

Been using SteamOS for ages and use the Ally plugin via decky and haven’t had any issues whatsoever

It’s called Ally Center and fixes all the known issues (such as TDP control and RGB) on the device. Once I installed it I don’t think I’ve ever had to use it.

Just me but I haven’t had many issues on my XAX using SteamOS. I just had to install a plugin to adjust the vibration and that was it.

EDIT: two plugins. Ally Fix and Ally Vibe Control. Both from GitHub.

i have steamOS on my X20 and atm theres no sound, HDR , backpaddles , and quick menu button is not working .

Sounds like everything I got when installed steam os to lgo2 and onexplayer. You should try some plugins ( from the comments ).

Rear buttons not work,when switching from desktop mode.screen flicking and no sound

Never tested the rear buttons honestly. I did experience the flickering when going from desktop to game mode, so I would just reboot instead. No big deal. I never experienced any sound issues however.
