Yes, that's what they said.

I know you're trying to bluntly announce how you're the specialest boy for singling yourself out as someone who doesn't spend money on Disney+, but the personal pronoun for the collective "my" is "our." The counterpart of plural "your" is "our."

You tried to make a point and just ended up looking like an argumentative asshole.

The issue is there is no reason to think that will happen. Even with the increased prices it's still not more expensive than cable packages people used to get.

Adjusted for inflation your average cable bill in 2005 was $74 a month. Anyone who didn't think streaming would reach cable prices and have ads was just dreaming anyway.

$50-100 bundles for streaming services with ads is all but inevitable.

Blaming yourself for someone else's greed is a new level of...I don't even know the word. We are not at fault for wanting to be law-abiding people who pay for content. The fault lies entirely at the greedy shareholders, investors, CEOs, and the rest of the greedy swines profiting from pushing the limit as far as it can go whilst working their damnest to bankrupt anyone who dares to pirate and at the same time exploiting morality by saying that stealing is wrong. "You wouldn't download a car" yes, I fucking would.

There is a difference between this "being our fault" and not knowing about or having alternatives. I think most people are afraid of being caught pirating or simply don't know how to do it. Then what's left? Another just as expensive streaming service? Or nothing at all if you cancel, which would leave you outside social discussions at the workplace, school, or in social settings when the latest show or movie is discussed.

That’s a lot of words to say “There’s no limit to how much corporate compulsion I’ll tolerate.”

Huh? That's not what I was saying at all. Are you so brainrotten that you could not get past my first two sentences?

Tl;dr just for you: People are not to blame; greedy corporations are. To put the blame on people who pay for a service is ridiculous.

Are you going to blame the rise of food and gasoline prices on people as well because they keep buying it? Surely they must be at fault since they are the ones byying it, right?

“Food and gasoline” LOL attempting to equate streaming services to literal necessities just proves my point.

Demand used to drive supply. But the mouth breathing masses have shown the demand for endless entertainment is a constant so the producers can now set the price point wherever they want within reason. People with complain but they’ll still buy. That used to only apply to necessities. If people understood that their spending is a form of democratic participation in the market, consumers overall would be I an much better place. But deciding how and where to spend ethically/intentionally is too much work. It’s easier to parrot “Corporation greedy. Economy bad”

Disney+ & Hulu Duo Basic (With Ads): $12.99 / month

$6.50 a month is cheaper than what this chart says it cost before they got “greedy”

So my price has actually decreased.

Sorry to interrupt your dopamine and cortisol binge.
