I don't disagree that she's evil, but "what do we expect from a woman..." Buddy, Ethan is the bigger villain here. HE left his wife for Ariana. Why are we demonizing the woman over the man who actually owed the woman he was with loyalty?
If she made the advance she is what's called a "homewrecker" with little to no regard for his wife. god knows what psychological tricks she ay or may not have played to wean him off her.
If HE made the advance, then yes he is the bigger evil but she is still at fault for willingly being game with it rather than shutting him down or telling his wife "yo your man's unfaithful"
I don't disagree. I said that. I despise homewreckers. But acting like both the cheater and the affair partner are on equal footing is ridiculous. The cheater is infinitely shittier than the affair partner, even if I hate to admit that myself, having been cheated on. It's just disgustingly insane how people will jump through hoops to make her the bigger bad guy. This happens every time a woman is in a scandal like this. She's not cool, no. But Ethan deserves the brunt of the hate. He's the one that left his wife, and coming up with head canons about "how she must've manipulated him" is diabolical. He's a grown ass man.
Oh, I know. But thank you for sticking up for my point. People love to backtrack and go "oh this comment wasn't from a sexist place" when it absolutely is, and sexism influences how people view cheaters and homewreckers a lot. Women are slammed far more, and far harder for either of these acts than their male counterparts, period. Everyone is a progressive and "woke" right up until has to do with introspection on internal sexism that taints how you view women, even in small ways. They always jump to "oh so women can do no wrong?" When the real issue is "why the fuck are you SO angry when a woman does XYZ vs when a man does the same exact thing?"
You stink. Yes she would be a homewrecker and that's bad. Genuinely I'm not disproving that.
But this was a married man. A man who swore loyalty and spent time nurturing a relationship with another woman. He's very much at fault and the bigger evil to begin with. "god knows what psychological tricks she may have played" dude this is a whole ass grown man. He's responsible for his own actions. He's the one who betrayed years of love and an oath made to his wife, not Ariana.
She's bad as well but immediately talking about her and not the man who left his family behind is a very odd choice and doesn't improve the image this sub has of being full of incels or incel bait.
but immediately talking about her and not the man who left his family behind is a very odd choice and doesn't improve the image this sub has of being full of incels or incel bait.
Congratulations, you're a sexist. Nobody except you made this about gender and my opinion on this matter would have stayed the same if the gender roles were reversed. The same way I have always seen Mauro Icardi as the bigger evil when he homewrecked Maxi Lopez (his best friend and mentor) by stealing his wife and kids from him. Even though it was Wanda Nara who was ultimately the one leaving her family behind.
Your immediate assumption that this is somehow about genders rather than the action disgusts me
Lol. That's not what being a sexist is. If your read the comments, you get a certain idea of people's views on this sub.
Bringing up gender doesn't mean one is a sexist immediately. You don't point fingers at people who analyze situations through the lens of gender which is still a part of how society functions and shapes people and call them sexist. Gender is a valid way to analyze certain topics and I did because I see a certain hypocrisy in the way some people talk on here.
Pay attention, like literally read this thread. The vitriol Ariana receives isn't entirely unwarranted, as the homewrecker. But in the supposed situation of the original post, the homewrecker would be Yamal. But the one who gets more shit in this comment section is not Yamal. It's the woman. Yamal is barely really mentioned.
I never excused the action. Nowhere did I imply being a homewrecker wasn't evil in itself.
What I criticize is how the first thing said is "what do you expect from a woman". You may not actually be sexist and I apologize in that case, I know you're referring to a song of hers. But when you have in mind the double standard from this entire section, it's hard not to interpret your comment wrongly.
Because you assume very quickly that she may have pulled some crazy psychological manipulation tricks to get him and she'd be the bigger evil. But that's a grown ass man you're talking about who spent years upon years with one woman. Ethan is the cheater. I don't understand why he's not the first person mentioned or the first person blamed for the situation.
I don't care if someone makes advances if I'm dating someone else I turn them down and that's it. I'm not going to pretend I have less responsibility because the other played tricks on me like being charming or something. I don't have less responsibility either if the other person flirts with me first, if I end up accepting it I'm the bigger evil because the expectations to be loyal are on me not the other dude even if he's bad too if he knew I was already in a relationship. The only exceptions to those "tricks" to get someone would literally be abuse or threats. And that's a lot to assume about someone.
"If HE made the advance, then yes he is the bigger evil but she is still at fault for willingly being game with it rather than shutting him down or telling his wife "yo your man's unfaithful""
I don't necessarily disagree with that, the issue is the rest. You may not realize but it does sound like you're really letting this guy off the hook easily with much less responsility than Ariana and that's what I think stinks. She deserves blame as well, but the one who broke the promise and years of trust is the one who should be pointed at first, whether it's a woman or a man. And that's Ethan.
Her reputation of being attracted to taken men, precedes her. Ethan knowingly and willingly left his wife and child to be with her. It doesn’t matter if she made the advances or manipulated him, he’s a huge loser and an idiot for doing what he did. Frankly, it’s embarrassing. Did he really think he could lock her down or something. If I were his wife, I’d be cackling at the turn of events.
The discourse on this is so parasocial. He's a grown up, he decided to leave his relationship. Just because the new relationship didn't work out doesn't mean his old one would have. It's totally common for people to leave a strained relationship when they find someone new. Not saying it's right, just that it's ridiculous how much public attention this has gotten.
My *exact* point. Why would you care or even think about it at all? It's the kind of thing I would judge a friend over, but I cannot understand the urge to care about a total stranger leaving their partner for someone else.
Home wrecker antics aside I feel it's disingenuous to act like Ariana Grande isn't an extremely attractive person (when she isn't suffering from eating disorders)
He wasn’t going to lock down Ariana Grande. It was always gonna be a fling for her. This girl had kids and was loyal until he dumped her. Lil bro ain’t gonna get better.
Ariana is certainly attractive and talented. So is this woman, given that she is a Doctor of Psychology. She is also the mother of his children. Ariana has a history of short-term flings. Ethan fucked himself in the end lmao
Many people in general are shallow, those that are trying to frame it as just a thing women do are absolutely trying to push some misogynistic nonsense
His now ex-wife dodged a bullet in a way. She found out early he wasn't a true partner. Imagine wasting 10+ years of your life with that dude. Sorry she has to chare custody with him.
The guy in the pic wasn't even her bf either. He's her friend. I saw someone mention that he's gay, but I don't know if that part is true. Either way, it's funny how fast the internet will tear down a woman before they even get the facts.
its normal, money works for both genders...its just uncommon for men to leave for rich celebs, because women almost universally prefer what's called "marrying up", mean they want a man with at least some or preferably higher social standing...there are only few women which would be willing to "downgrade" and if they are celebs/rich, settle for some guy of lower social standing, so even if more men wanted to do shit like Slater, vast majority just wont have the opportunity as no such girl will want them...meanwhile there are plenty guys who don't give a shit and if she is hot/the girl they wanted, they really wont care for social standing, so if women want to do that shit, well its definitely more possible
reminds me of Messi -
- be young messi, fall in love with your high school sweetheart
- she is good friends, but refuses to be more, finds a different guy (she eventually marries)
- point to your temple and understand you need to become a multi-millionaire to get out of the friendzone
- move to Barca, become best footballer in the world, become a multi-millionaire
- do a visit back home, the girl has a change of heart, divorces the guy and becomes your gf and later wife
- make PR story that you were childhood sweethearts and wanted each other right from the start, pay good money to keep that PR up
- live happily ever after, until spain beats your ass in the final
the misogyny is thru the roof in these comments. Men do that to women all the time, when a girl is pretty and knows how to take advantage of it men get so jealous
Although I don't expect you to admit you're wrong in argumentation, you're not making a similar argument.
She didn't get famous. She didn't achieve anything. She was just pretty and got approached by a famous person.
Ethan Slater did get famous. He did achieve things. He ran business and ran shows. He's quite literally SPONGEBOB. So this is a completely different reason for hypergamy, which is something that normalcels never understand.
Please find me an example of a complete random nobody man that looks handsome get picked up by a famous female celebrity, where he betrays his relationship of years to go be with the new woman. It doesn't exist and won't ever exist because biology doesn't work that way.
It's a real stretch to call Ethan Slater famous, but...
I hate him too, but come on, he was spongebob. Are you telling me you wouldn't get down with that big yellow noodle with a few "I'm ready"s in your ear?
Lana Del Rey and Jeremy Dufrene and Brittany Spears and Kevin Federline
He was SpongeBob on Broadway, not in the show. He was a nobody to the general public before Ariana. No, I would not be attracted to him, even if I had zero context.
Both of the couples I mentioned are women who are/were married to men who are not famous, are handsome, and betrayed relationships with women (particularly Jeremy Dufrene who was engaged to be married to a woman of nearly 10 years).
Yes, he was spongebob, that's what I said. Not sure why you hate short people so much, but I guess tallcels just will never understand.

But where's the story? I can infer that you brought them up to prove your point, but when I tried to look up the details with Its Britney Bitch I didn't see anything about infidelity. He was some dancer dude already messing around with stars. I didn't bother to look up the other example as I assumed it to be equally bunk.
I can tell you're only here to take the piss and not have any meaningful conversation, or you're incredibly autistic, idk which. Have a good day, regardless.
Your response was to be intellectually lazy and not even go through the trouble of googling both my examples. Anyone with a similar mindset as you can read this thread, Google Lana Del Rey and see that what you said is just not true.

This is quite literally a fallacy. You could have provided the examples, but you didn't. I googled it myself, found one example to not be true, and then stopped.
You are quite literally arguing a person who played spongebob is not famous.
Edit 1: So you are wrong on both counts.
Edit 2: I think the audience knows which one is right. As such I've made a report to get the mods involved. The loser of this reddit argument will be executed.
Edit 3: And yes it's me downvoting your posts. You can stop wondering.
It's fascinating, isn't it? Ultimately, the strongest signal that triggers the hypergamous impulse in women is the extend to which other women appear to value the man.

Did we forget Ethan Slater left his highschool sweetheart wife of 10 years with their newborn, for Ariana Grande?
