Hey everyone, I hope it's alright to post here. I just felt like this was the only place I could talk about this without getting shat on.

To put things into perspective, I consider myself a transmasculine enby. I started playing Genshin in late 2021 and getting attached to the medium male characters. During this period of my life, I was going through extremely distressing dysphoria regarding my height. The only thing I had to compare myself to were the cisgender men in my family, who are all around 6 feet. Seeing male characters that I could actually aspire to look like/be helped me immensely in accepting my height. I also got into shipping a lot of them and joined communities centered around those characters.

Unfortunately I very quickly grew disillusioned to the amounts of misogyny in male character-centered spaces. Natlan was a huge mask-off moment for certain communities I was in, and I eventually just left during that period. Now I only participate in spaces for specific ships or just lurk mains communities, but the latter is what pushed me into making this post.

This post appeared on my feed, I cannot say if the post itself is true or not but that's the least of my problems now.

What really ruined my day was seeing the comments. I shouldn't have expected much, but it's so fucking bad. People were crying about how Hoyo hates/sabotages male characters and denying that male character spaces have a misogyny problem. And then right under that thread was a comment saying that incels and lesbians were the same. That's when I stopped reading.

It's all so fucking vile and insidious. And people (usually cis men) wonder why I don't like being in male character spaces 🙄 and I never hear waifu fans shit talk male characters even half as much as they do with female characters lmao.

Edit: Just came across a post, apparently the leaker in question attempted to sabotage Vesna previously. Now all the "they would NEVER do this to a female character" people are getting real quiet lol

Apparently, all Khaenri'ahs being descendants of Anastasya is only a problem if it's a wlw ship. The info didn't stop ppl from instantly shipping Pierro with Hroptatyr and excusing it with "well they're only distantly related🙄". So is Tsaritsa and Rhine or pretty much everyone on Earth

Or having a canon partner isn't a problem if its mlm. Rhineritsa is wrong bc Anastasya has a canon partner but reriflins isn't despite Rerir having a canon partner. Make it make sense
