Depends on a lot of factors like knowing the language, history, religion, etc. Are you paternally Georgian or maternally?

This would make things much easier if you’re Georgian on all sides. You definitely have to reach out to the justice hall department responsible for citizenship inquiries.

You do have to know the language, history, and religion is a major factor.

Why would religion be a factor for getting citizenship? There are plenty of native Georgian Muslims, assuming OP even is a Muslim.

You mean the ones living near the border with Turkey who will likely be the easiest to assimilate when we are inevitably cut up into smaller regions? Those ones?

Do you have any documents of the era and do you have any relatives still living in Georgia?

You will likely need to pass Georgian language test/conversation and history.

Yeah it was much much easier during misha's era, he was quite lenient with giving people citizenship.

My cousin, who is fully Georgian but was born in Russia, got hers during his presidency and all she had to do was little more than make a request. Her brother had to work for it a couple of years ago when he immigrated back.

There are two requirements you will need to meet:
1. You should prove your ancestors were Georgians/the authority must be able to find records proving your ancestors were Georgians;
2. You will need to pass exams in history, laws and language. There are 700 tests in total, and all of them are published on a website, which gives you possibility to read them beforehand, which makes things easier, but please keep in mind that you will need to pass the tests at a computer so you need to at least read Georgian. If you have disabilities which would make it hard for you to pass the exams you might be exempted.

Also, you, or someone on your behalf (with a POA) will need to attend an interview after all these.

If either of your parents was a citizen when you were born, the process is simple. If not, you’re f*cked
