I have watched Sad Cats original story to how he is now and that cat got so lucky and is so spoiled and very loved now.

Yes. So sad. It is the look you see in the eyes of children who feel abandoned. It is the saddest look of all! I am so happy he is loved and cared for nowβ.

The changes in him are so amazing and are thanks to your patience AND your willingness to let him be who he is and move at his own pace. ππ
We have always either taken in strays or adopted adult cats from shelters. One of my cats now will still get what we call, "shelter face" where his eyes get all scared and rejected and he looks so sad and afraid his fears are going to come true and we're going to abandon him to... He's been with us for a year which isn't a long time in his 3-year life. It breaks my heart. But it's less and less often now. Usually if I've been out of the house, or if we've stopped him from doing something, like scratching the furniture.
That looks is so unforgettable. But he knows he's got you and Momcat and every time he's reminded of that terrible time and you're still there and/or come back, it will fade more and more.

Poor little thing. People don't realize how emotional and sensitive cats are. This makes me break down.
