Will pentium d 925 cpu enough for games like fallout 3, oblivion and similar from that era? I got old pc from my brother and that is the best cpu it can support. To change the cpu i would need to get other motherboarb but im not sure it is worth it.

Pc has

For fo3/oblivion 925 seems be enough, for skyrim you definitely want better cpu and more ram.

If possible, i eill be use Core2Duo, they are much less power hungry and much faster. Like E8600, they are dirt cheap. If current mobo dont support c2d, any say g31 based will be enough, they are cheap and plentyfull.

Seems current mobo dont have any support for c2d. So pD9xx is a most powerful cpu for it.

Yes, chipset. Technicaly for c2d support it can be smth from 945 and up, but better check datasheets. For core2quad it need to be 946 at least, afairc (yes, i know about ASRock 775i65GV v1/v2/v3 and few others.)

Had a P4 Prescott 3.2 GHz with 2.5 gb RAM and a X1950 Pro 256 mb.

Played Fallout 3, New Vegas, Dead Space, Oblivion without problems.

Even GTA 4 and Episodes From Liberty City, but with some graphic limits.
