Questions/HELP Want your cute/funny ratties to become collectible cards in a Discord Bot? šš
Hi everyone! I am currently developing a Discord collection bot where users can spawn and collect different rats (think of it like a PokƩmon/Gacha game, but entirely dedicated to our favorite potato bros!).
I want the game to feature real, beautiful, and funny pictures of real pets. If you would like your furry friend to become a collectible card in the game, I would love to use your photos!
To keep everything super safe and respect everyone's privacy and copyright:
Please DO NOT just dump random images in the comments.
If you are interested, comment here with your rat's picture.
When you send the Pic say "I agree for using the photo in the bot" (so I can keep it for Discord's terms of service).
Feel free to also share your rat's name and a funny trait or backstory (e.g., "loves pizza", "sleeps upside down", "master of side-eye") so I can write a custom description and assign them a rarity !
Thank you so much to anyone who wants to help make this bot awesome! ā¤ļø
I need halloween rats image but even normal one it's ok!!!

Questions/HELP First time rat owner ā what do I need to know before getting rats?
Iām seriously considering getting pet rats and I want to make sure Iām properly prepared before I bring them home. Iāve been doing research, but Iād love advice from people who actually own rats about things you wish you knew before getting them.
Iām especially looking for advice on:
- What size/type of cage is actually best? What cage features should I look for/avoid?
- What bedding do you recommend? How deep should it be and how often should it be changed?
- What should their everyday diet look like? What are the best rat pellets/lab blocks available in Australia? What fresh foods can/canāt they have?
- What toys are genuinely worth buying? What should I have in the cage from day one?
- How many hammocks, ropes, ladders, hides and tunnels should I have?
- Is it worth doing litter training and what litter/setup works best?
- How often should the cage be spot-cleaned vs fully cleaned? What method of cleaning would you recommend?
- What health problems should I be prepared for, and how often do rats generally need vet visits? Are there any emergency signs I should know?
- How do you recommend getting them comfortable with you when you first bring them home?
- How much time outside their cage do they need, and how do you rat proof a room?
- Roughly how much should I budget for setup, food, bedding and unexpected vet bills?
- Are there any particular brands, cages, foods, bedding or supplies available in Australia that you recommend?
Also, what are the things you wish someone had told you BEFORE you got your first rats?
Iād much rather over-prepare than realise Iām missing something once I have them, so literally any advice, product recommendations, warnings, or beginner mistakes to avoid would be appreciated!

Questions/HELP My rat chewed her way out of the cage:(
I have 3 girls, who get about 3 hours daily of free roam time, 1.5 hours in the morning and 1.5 at night sometimes longer if Iām not too
Tired, and the rest spent in a pretty nice 4 level large sized cage. One of my girls realized the bottom pan was plastic and not metal, so she chewed a rat size hole into the corner just enough to squeeze through the bars. I woke up at 4 am to an unpleasant surprise of her licking my face! (At least she decided to come wake me up before causing trouble)I now clipped a small litter box into this corner now to keep her from getting to the hole but feel like itās only a matter of time before she chews a new one!! Any tips on how I can keep her from doing this again??! Sheās my most adventurous girl, if my door is even slightly cracked she will run out and straight down the hallway. I want to try and buy a large wheel for inside the cage to keep her occupied but the cost of a good one makes me hesitant. Do I need to keep her more busy while in the cage? Or is there a way to fortify the plastic? I only use fabric liners which she easily pulls away.

RIP Goodbye to my sweet boi Onyx
Said goodbye to my shy yet opinionated Rat Boi Onyx this morning.
I just feel so hollow. Iām still questioning if I made the right choice (I know I did, but it still sucks).

Questions/HELP What does this behavior mean?
Does anyone know what this behavior means? My rat Katcha (the one on top of the hideout) does this kind of frequently, but only when he is positioned above Matcha like he is here. Is he just playing? I wondered if it might be a warning bite but Matcha (the other rat) doesnāt seem to mind. š¤·
