Having children and a family and sometimes even a partner means sacrificing somethings and making choices. The mother wants the daughter the choose better than she did. She is completely valid in her perspective
Except the part where she blames the husband for her own choices. She's valid in mourning her own choices in life, but goes over the line making it sound like he manipulated her into it
Tell me what she was trying to say then. Because she was clearly telling her children that their father prevented her from chasing and achieving her dreams. She is human. She has no less ability to make decisions than he did. But she accepted that things were the way they were. She’s valid to feel like she missed out on things she wished she didn’t, but she also didn’t do anything to make it happen. What she said to her husband and her children showed her taking no responsibility for how things turned out. If you’re unwilling to accept that both of them led to things turning out this way and not just her husband, then you either don’t believe women are equal to men or don’t believe they have the power to make their own dreams happen, which is misogynistic.
