No they dont, they built societies where no one talks to eachother and nothing gets fixed.

u/ProfileBest2034 Sep 02 '26
Feminist values are great, just don't ask fetuses, babies, and toddlers.

u/small_bird_loud Sep 01 '26
Feminism isn't misunderstood, it's incoherent and internally inconsistent. Which wave? Within which broader cultural context? It argues both for a fundamental equality and a strategic essentialism.

u/maydisturb Sep 01 '26
Feminism is the radical notion that women are people, who should have equal treatment under the law. Anybody who doesn't support that is just a piece of shit.

u/new_user_bc_i_forgot Sep 02 '26
i support that. I still wouldn't nessecarily say i'm feminist, because i have this radical notion that people of all genders, including even Men, are people. And that everyone should be treated equally under the law as well as be treated generelly equally socially.
The dictionary definition of feminism is sadly very different from what feminists then say and write, and i don't want to support a lot of that.3
u/Ugin_sucks Sep 02 '26
āAll lives matterā over here. Ugh.
3
u/new_user_bc_i_forgot Sep 02 '26
Yes, i think all people deserve rights and to be treated well. How is that bad?
1
u/Ugin_sucks Sep 02 '26
I also feel like everyone deserves right. That sidesteps the message, like that behind āblack likes matterā with saying āall lives matterā. Ya, no duh everyoneās life matters, that wasnāt the point. And you intentionally ignore it or worse with this kind of bs.
2
u/new_user_bc_i_forgot Sep 02 '26
What i'm saying is that yes "the notion that women are people" is a good one, but often feminist messaging or writing reads as "the notion that women are people and men are not". Therefore that Feminism either needs to fix it's messaging or it's definition. Thats my point. The notion that women are people IS good. I'm not against that.
As an example: I live in a country that has specific laws that apply to Men, but not to Women.
This means that my Country de facto (and de jure) doesn't treat people equally by Law. I'm saying we should fix that. Saying my right to be treated as an equal human being to others is "bs" isn't a good thing.1

u/maydisturb Sep 02 '26
So this is how you set up a honeypot for incels and trad-fam zealots. Just dare to say "Women are people" and watch them come out of the woodwork. Thank you for outing yourselves - I do love watching y'all cry, whinge, and moan in misogynist.

u/CraftyPerformance272 Sep 02 '26
They don't want equal treatment under the law. They don't want to get drafted if there is a war just look at ukraine. Women get treated with kid gloves when they molest children, when they kill their own children, when they domestically abuse men, they get much shorter prison sentences if they even bother getting charged for crimes. Look at the education system feminism helped push redoing the education system to benefit women and now girls and women are excelling in school and University while men and boys are falling behind and that is what feminism is women get any advantages and if anyone else gets disadvantaged then it's not their problem

Ya we definitely need harsher sentencing for women! These ladies get away with murder.
0
u/PraireGentleman Sep 02 '26
You can not be a feminist and still believe in gender equality. Thereās a difference between āwe should treat men and women equallyā and āwe need more fat models because only short tiny dicked men body shame womenā
1
u/chachaslydd Sep 02 '26
Thats not what feminism means at all lol
1
u/Own_Hat584 Sep 02 '26
Right. Not anymore! That was 10 to 3 years ago. Then ozempic came out, and now feminism is something totally different.

u/Ornery_Tank_2782 Sep 02 '26
Means vs applied. When feminism is used to justify their owns form of discrimination it doesnāt matter what they would like it defined as. Itās that old saying ā actions speak louder than wordsā. Some of us can be objective enough to call discrimination as it is whether itās at the left, right, man, women or child.

Feminist values are basically women get to keep any advantages they have in society and any disadvantages they have is not their fault and everyone should come together to make sure they have no disadvantages. On the other hand men have to give up any advantages and any disadvantages men have are their own fault and they're terrible and they shouldn't expect any help with it.

The only reason I wouldn't call myself a feminist is because as a man, I think I can only really be an ally. But I agree tf out of it.
Feminism, universal design, the social model of disability and the veil of ignorance - stuff that makes up my worldview.

u/Paul_Savage_1 Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 03 '26
Nope. BS. Don't believe it!
This is the propaganda side of Feminism.
It's like the the political arm of the IRA.
Then there's Feminism in action, like the militant IRA, trying to deconstruct western civilization. Which is actually the stated goal of the original organizers of feminism and suffragettes in the 18th & 19th centuries. (As is clearly stated in their private papers and correspondence.)
Modern Feminists, over the last 50+ years, have just been far more successful in rotting out (deconstructing) western civilization from the inside out.
BTW the suffragettes did actually take "direct action" ...

this article seems to be confusing feminine/masculine archtypes with the feminism movement in order to promote feminism with a series of broken arguements - its really easy to dismantle and if you read it very very stupid and obvious
The article takes Hofstedeās āmasculine/feminineā cultural dimension, where those words are labels for clusters of social values, and then slides from āfeminine-coded valuesā into āfeminist valuesā as though they were the same thing. They are not. The author explicitly says Hofstede was describing cultural patterns rather than biology, but then immediately says āthat insight connects directly to feminist theory.ā
That move is doing a lot of unearned work.
Hofstedeās āfeminineā societies are characterised here by cooperation, consensus, care, quality of life and concern for the vulnerable. Those traits are not owned by the feminist political movement. A Christian communitarian, paternalistic conservative, social democrat, Buddhist, civic republican, or ordinary apolitical person could endorse many of them without being feminist at all. So the article effectively does this:
1. Define a bundle of broadly attractive traits as āfeminine.ā
2. Note that societies with more of those traits often perform well.
3. Rename those traits āfeminist values.ā
4. Conclude that feminism produces better societies.
That is basically an equivocation.
The word changes meaning in the middle of the argument.
There are several other problems too.

Calling it "feminism" was the first mistake.
As per usual, the left is terrible at terminology and marketing. People judge books by their cover even if we all know not to.
3
u/Impossible-Scene5084 Sep 02 '26
Donāt mistake it for an orchestrated movement. It was effective because it gave voice to women who were literally considered property, no selling or PR required really.
Things changed a bit since though. As more women get liberated there is less call for womenās liberation, naturally.
0
u/PraireGentleman Sep 02 '26
Thereās literal distinctions, waves, of feminism. And yet nobody thought āthis whole gender equality movement that specifically describes itself under a particular gender and acts specifically for one gender probably should be renamed to reflect our modern developmentā
1
u/Impossible-Scene5084 Sep 02 '26
Yeah sure, plenty of people thought about it, but thatās not how the zeitgeist works. Theres no central leadership to go through a rebranding exercise and it would be a waste of time in any case.
Besides, people who fixate on the name and tone at the exclusion of content are easy to dismiss. Why would feminists want to give credence to those people even if there was a mechanism to do so?

I claimed no such thing. Go back and read for comprehension.
It is ironic that you would fixate on tone at the exclusion of content, in reply to a comment pointing out that people who fixate on tone at the exclusion of content are easy to dismiss. Consider yourself dismissed.

Being fair to half of "everyone" is indeed good for everyone.
I watched Mad Men like a decade a go when i was in high school, I recently tried to rewatch it and it was just so gross right off the bat. Typewriter so easy even a woman can use it. I know the misogyny is part of the setting and is a big part of the plot, but just didn't feel like litigating that whole thing again even though the rest of it is awesome.

u/Own_Hat584 Sep 02 '26
In case you haven't noticed, we're way past that now. We've gone so far that women now have the advantage, still feminism strives for even more. You're not oppressed, don't buy the pink razors and work the same hours at equally difficult/dangerous jobs if you want equally pay. You have to do equal work. There I solved the last "issues" your movement faced, now go enjoy your many advantages.
