I feel like there's some group of people that REALLY want to sell me on Sydney Sweeney, and I just don't see any real appeal.

They love her because they think she is a white supremacist like they are.

All because when she had a chance to stand up and say she WASN'T, she decided to cash the cheques and keep her mouth shut.

I just read the article.

It is fantastic and makes a great point.

My only caveat is that Sweeny isn't a politician and one can assume she has a PR team who advise her on social media, public perception etc.

If they thought her being silent as the controversy flared they were wrong.

A politician may have something to gain from playing this narrative out - she did not.

Hopefully, she fired their incompetent asses.

It has to do with politics, NOT media personalities - very different things.

You have no discernment.

All the examples given were from before the creation of social media.

There was a simple way for her to handle the media firestorm that would have been very good for her public image.

I never once said she was a white supremacist. I don't think she is.

But far right actors disingenuously used her to fan the flames of the culture war.

I think her PR team fumbled the ball.
