Why are you closing instead of just waiting for sales or re listing ? How many items is in your “shop “?

I'm over it tbh. The lowball offers, the scams, the months of no sales...it's time to move on.

The lowball offers are absurd. I am expecting if the tariffs do take hold that good quality new items will start to move.

That’s pretty ridiculous. I got similar, wanting half off.

I've been getting lowball offers long before I posted my sale.
The low balls aren't a problem exclusive to people posting sales. The low balls have been a nail in Poshmark's coffin for years.

Yeah I'm just saying I would expect that from now on and not be surprised. A closing closet is where people are going to expect super cheap stuff

Sidenote but there are a lot of sellers who constantly complain about lowballs, enough to want to leave posh... I've sold over 7,000 items and lowballs are not something I experience that much. So I really think it depends on what you are listing and for how much. Items are worth way less than a lot of sellers think they are. Even say, an item that was basically new with just tags removed and maybe worn once - 99% of the time it is worth sooo much less than retail value. What someone is willing to pay is what it's worth, msrp isn't as important as people think.

That is my lowball rant (not directed at you specifically!)

That's what I'm hoping. Although, I'm pretty concerned that people REALLY won't have any extra money then. 90% of my items go to either NY or CA, and a few FL are starting to pop in more

I think good quality, classic items will do well. People always want something new to them even if it’s not store -new. And staples, like jeans will do well. It’s a few months out, but I am going through my closets now thinking I will purge.

Just curious. I know that it has changed so much over the last 7 years. I do miss the earlier days!

I just checked out your closet, which looks pretty similar to mine. I have been feeling the same for some time - I am posting more in eBay and other sites but everyone wants super cheap now because we are also competing with Poshmark paid promoted closets & with sites like Turo and SHEIN - it sucks because the time effort and energy it takes to make a profit is way more than the benefits!! I am looking for something else too!

I am really sorry to hear you are feeling this way, but I totally get it. Poshmark can be a massive drain when you are dealing with lowballers and dry spells. It is exhausting to put in so much work just to feel like you are getting nowhere or getting scammed.

The key to not burning out is usually tightening up the operations so the app does not own your life. If you can spend less time on the app and more time on the stuff that actually makes money, the frustration usually starts to fade. I always suggest using a tool like Nifty to handle the redundancies like sharing and cross-listing. It helps cut down the hours spent on the app significantly so you are not stuck in that manual treadmill. But the key is lowering those COGS, comping the right way with a pricing model that's in stone and sourcing quickly and efficiently.

I wrote about setting up better systems in my book, The Clothing Reseller Playbook, which is over on Amazon if you are ever curious. It is mostly just about getting your time back so you do not feel like quitting every other week. Whether you decide to keep going or move on, I hope things get easier.

Good luck and happy reselling!
