Due to a large influx of people not reading the rules and how small of a Mod team we are this is here to serve as the only reminder of the rules. Just to be clear asking or commenting about prices is a permanent ban, the internet is not the place to judge if prices are "fair".
Rules are available on the sidebar.

Anyone else plumb compressed air into their kitchen. I feel like this is the most Tim the tool man Taylor thing I’ve done in this kitchen so far….

Hi all, wondering if this will drain sufficiently for kitchen double sink? Thanks

Was at harbor freight just now and they had a k50 style machine there for only 250. It didn't come with any cable but that's a pretty good deal assuming it works. Would y'all trust it?

Hey guys,
This is how things were left by my plumbers. I’m now responsible for reconnecting the toilet. What do I do/buy to make this happen? Thank you

Start off by saying that I am on a lot of medications that cause me severe constipation, that is already being dealt with, don't need advice on that. Toilet is currently plugged up from one of my "creations" and the bowl is draining super slow. Plunging has not helped, hot water and dish soap has not helped, can't get a snake in to help clear it. Can't afford to hire a professional right now, what do I do?

So for context I live in a very old house and it's a rental.
We have a toddler who may have or may have not dropped a toy inside the toilet. Truly I don't know if he did drop a toy in or if something else happened.
Unfortunately we have experienced the toilet clogging a couple of days or even a day after we use a plunger. Basically as soon as we have solids in the bowl then we seem to have issues.
Anyway, we plunged and it was "fixed" then it would clog. Then we plunged again, everything seemed fine, and then it clogged again.
Tonight I tried a Bauer Toilet Auger and for some reason I can't get it to really go into the entrance of the toilet. I wind up the line in a clockwise fashion but then as I pull it back just a little bit I noticed that it spins backwards to where it was.
I just get resistance when I push the auger in and try to spin the bulb. I can't tell but I'd think I'm hitting the bend of the trap and it's not going further.
What do I do? Toilet is working for now because we just plunged it

The previous set up people stated the shower would not be vented. There was a toilet where the shower drain is going. I had to cut/drill out a 45 elbow to get back to a straight pipe.
In order from main line: I have a 3 inch piece of ABS - fernco rubber coupling - 3x2 street wye
toilet is 4x3 closet bend - 3inch pipe - long sweep 90 - short pipe (not currently installed)-3x2 wye
Middle of 4 inch pipe is at 12.5 inches from stud. Shower drain is 18 inches from back wall and 26 inches from side wall.
Only thing left besides glue is make sure my slope is good. From my research this should be good, right?

Walked in and found my carpet wet so here's how that went lol. I only added in the long section with 2 couplers. Other than using way too much solder what did I do wrong. It's not leaking.

Was recaulking an old sink and suddenly it broke at pipe beneath. I'm not sure what components I need or how to fix. I appreciate the advice!

Got everything situated and called in the inspector, just added conduit for pex. Put in 2 1-1/4 runs to the kitchen for 1/2 in pex, another to the bathroom wall for hot water, then 2 2in runs, one to the outside below frost line in case I eventually have issues with the water supply line, and one to the bathroom wall for all the stuff there.
My understanding is the pex would be fine directly buried, so using conduit shouldn't cause a problem with the inspector, it's just there to protect the pex and allow me to pull out the pex if it ever has issues.

Is this a standard set up? It’s giving off a musty odor. Maintenance cleaned off the residue with an anti fungal but the odor is back again. They offered to wrap the area in plastic wrap?? My guess is it’s not supposed to be sealed off or it would be. I was told the discoloration is just rust. He also said he’s not sure if there is a trap in the pipe. I’ve lived here for almost 10 yrs and it just started smelling a few years ago. Initially I thought it was my leaky washing machine that was causing the odor. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

Kind of proud of this one this is my house. So don’t think I would do this to a client, My wife has been on me to replace our water heater for about a year and a half and it’s the last thing that I wanted to do on the weekend. Well Friday evening we came home to water coming out of the garage. Of course I sold my last 50 gallon that afternoon. She looked at me and said “So what we have to go the whole weekend without hot water?” then I remembered I had an extra 120 V 20 gallon.

Hi all,
I renovated my bathroom last summer. A few weeks ago, I noticed what looks like a water stain on the wall (see pictures). I originally thought it may have been caused by someone splashing water as they were getting out of the shower. However, it is possible there is a leak behind drywall or tile backing. One relevant detail here is that the contractor did not use silicone caulk for the joints in the bathroom. He did that at my request when I noticed cracks in the grout.
Does this look like a leak? Should I have this checked out by a professional?
Any insight is highly appreciated!

I retrieved a ring that fell down the bathroom sink. The upper left screw actually has ridges for a screw motion and I did lefty-loosey to undo it. The right one isn’t actually a screw, it’s just a mouth piece that goes over the pipe. I tried to put it back and then I turned the water on and so far no leaks. I put a container underneath so I can track it tonight and tomorrow. But if you notice where the black color is showing on the right, I think they painted over it before and I’m assuming it was previously snug. I should have taken a before photo prior to retrieving the ring but I forgot. This is a rental in coastal CA so it’s quite old. Let me know if I did anything wrong.
