Discussion now that dots works proactively they should create problem solving centers where you share you dot and they work in paralell by the thousands just like they did w navier stokes, just now collaborativelyy

then everyone will get their name in something important when breaktrhoughs happens, also you could guide the dot based on the current gathered progress so that it contributes w your ideas, if you are versed in that subject... thats the idea thanks!

ah so like I donate my dot when idle/when I want to, to a 'swarm' of dots with a goal I support? that'd be pretty cool.

simply put yes, i think itd be cool too

only of people want to donate their usage. but people would only do that if they didnt plan to burn up their full isage thenselves.

this would only increase compute costs for OpenAI so they wont do it

Interesting kind of like an open source repo where people can contribute but they’re contributing agent usage and spend. There would need to be some kind of supervisory layer to ensure no duplicated work and efforts are aligned

they should jsut share the 'harness' setup they used for navier stokes, or in a very metaway, a problem to be solved is creating and optimizing a harness for collective agent problem solving as a problem itself... self improvement

Taken to the limit, I think you just described a future where superintelligence access AND effort is democratized (or socialized, more literally).

Yes use an MCP to manage the queue of labor.

i get why that sounds appealing, but when you say dots, do you mean specific prompts you've written that work well, or actual model weights you could share. because if it's prompts, the issue is they'd need to be solving the same problem in the same way, and collaborative math problems usually need one coherent approach rather than thousands of parallel attempts.

i mean the cloud agent that works proactivelly without you having to prompt, essentially thatd be something way simpler and not as cool as it looks: pay your plan and we (openai) use YOUR tokens to run agents... at least its for a compelling cause, and youd get the feeling of contributions cause its your 'dot'

So... I'm going to be paying a monthly subscription towards somebody else's server farm for.... what?

Am I the only person who remembers when ai fueled UBI was supposed to be a thing?

youd not be doing it, cause you wouldnt want to, thats it, but if someone want to share spare resources to contribute to a problem, they could, at scale, itd be relevant

You've lost me mate, what spare resources. Children are starving, people are freezing, there's a fuel crisis. There are no spare resources. All resources must go towards humanity's survival or we will all die.

yes there are crisis in some kinds of resources. you know whats not limited tho? solutions... energy? better batteries, better solar panels, food? supply chain, more health alligned preservative chemicals

and youd be suprised where these solutions live... at the end of long parallel chains of orchestrated research

You'd have to have some sort of crowd aligned problem set. Like everyone posts the problems they want to solve and a potential solution and then folks opt in to allocate their dots or tokens towards solving said problem.

yes this probably be the architecture under the hood, but it could have some creative flourishes to enable e lil bit more 'engagement' from the actual person sharing

and yes youd need an orchestrated research plan, essentially thered be somethign like 'roles' and the dot would work under the role premises, like a real employee

Idk, anthropic has had some math breakthroughs with parallel work.
