[Hoch] Aaron Boone said the Yankees decided not to put Aaron Judge on the ALDS roster because “to win a World Series, I feel like this week is important” for him to continue to recover.

Makes sense a grade 2 calf strain a 4-6 week recovery. It been 2-3 weeks since the injury. Judge is not ready if he still cant even run yet.

Imagine if he rushed back just to re injure it. It would be sould crushing. Make sure hes good.

If he had played achilles tear is what could have happened. Im glad team is saving Judge from himself.

It's the smartest thing. Just continue to heal and Judge will be strong for the WS

The strat is to have Stanton pinch hit in game 2 of the ALDS and the after he does anything just have him limp off the field and then they can do an injury replacement. Have Judge be the replacement so he can play in Yankee Stadium and doesn't have to run on the turf. Easy profits

It makes sense, but it’s hard not to selfishly want to see him tear up the rays lol

This is good. Don’t rush him he’s just gonna hurt something again. I really would like to see a full year of healthy judge and the kids

Huh? Is this saying if we get there he’ll play in the WS

I think it’s saying he’s so close to being ready that they don’t want to risk him re-injuring it at this point and risk losing him for a deeper playoff run.
If the Yankees advance I’d be surprised if he isn’t on the ALCS roster.

Lol how delusional do you have to be to think there’s a WS or ALCS in this team’s future with no Judge on the division series roster. Sure could’ve use A SINGLE RUN tonight, eh?

I understand his window is probably beginning to close but I think it's still imperative that we don't turn him into Stanton 2.0 by destroying his ability to walk

As much as I want to see them win the WS, I don’t want to risk him tearing his Achilles. Sit him out until he’s ready. He isn’t going to magically hit when he comes back either. He will need time to get his groove and I don’t think there is enough time left this year.

This is not just what's best for him but it's best for the team if everyone's being honest with themselves.

So if the advance he’s already ruled out for the ALCS

No, Boone said they were holding Judge out "this week." It doesn't rule him out next week if the Yankees advance.

To play in the World Series, you need to win 2 other postseason series. Why would any player much less a manager even bring up the World Series now?
