Deck Discussion Current state of hardened scales

Hello everyone!

I was a decently longtime hardened scales player, the deck was one of my absolute favourites, but when MH3 came out I just lost my love for the deck. Wrath the skies and meltdown with boros energy running rampant really hindered my enjoyment so I took a break. I am looking to get back into modern but I don't even see hardened scaled on the goldfish metagame, I'm wondering if this deck is just sorta finished? I see some interesting artifact shells with emry and canoneer but nothing remotely similar to what I really enjoyed with scales. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Deck is still playable. Managed to get a T4 at local tourney last weekend, and lost in the finals of an RCQ in July. Won against 2x prowess, zoo, humans and lost to goryos. Are you wanting to play it at an FNM level or grind MTGO?

This is the list I ran but I feel like 2x Emry isn't enough to see the card as often as I'd like. Having [[Test of Talents]] in the SB for wrath/meltdown is real nice and the only other reason to go blue imo. Let me know if you have any questions.

I was cutting a patchwork for 3rd emry and a patchwork for a haywire mite. I cut a zabaz for 1 more land. I also decided fetchlands and surveil lands made the deck slower. 1 island and 7 forests. Inkmonths are a must to me but i get the turmoil. When i was winning it was really just saga tokens getting the job done.

The thing is that patchwork works(hehe) really well with the zero mana artifacts which emry allows you to replay so I wouldn't cut them. Fully agreed on the fetch/surveils and I did miss the inkmoths a lot. The deck feels like it does need the Emry plan B for grinding the games out but there's just not enough space. Can I see your list?

But ward 2 just wasnt enough for me. I eventually cut him all together and tried a malevelent rumble patchwork beastie simic build haha.

Oh my list is long since gone. I checked if something still existed in my manabox app but nothing was consistent enough to save. The list thats there isnt worth sharing since i never worked it out. If you really wanna see it ill post it haha.
