Mfers who don’t know anything about baseball think our biggest issue is the manager lol

Well it’s not the biggest issue lol. Owner and front office is. But those aren’t going to change.

He did a good job. What’s the problem?

Cardinals fan here who lives in Florida.

Many people thought the Marlins would be one of the worst MLB teams this year, or at least certainly in the bottom tier. The manager isn't the problem. I'd say they overperformed.

You don't know this team. They did not over-perform lmfao. If anything they shot themselves in the foot way too many times.

Overperformed compared to expectations, I mean.

Not really. I thought 81-8. Most people who know the team predicted around 78-82 wins

I think everyone besides Marlins fans thought that because they haven't paid attention to the Marlins. They finished at 79 wins last year and kept the roster mostly intact for this season. While most of us on this sub expected a little more improvement from last year 80 wins was about right

I would be surprised if a manager who took a team from 100 losses to playoff contention within 2 years is let go. He’s done a great job.

EDIT:
324 games each:

Schumacher 146-178
McCullough 159-165

He got a AAA team to win 80 games. Good news he’s coming back.

you're clueless if you think this is a AAA team.

I believe many of the Marlins everyday players would not have made it past AAA with the teams they had been traded from. I’m not trying to knock em down. I love our guys and hope they win every game but I think that’s true.

Not losing 90 games in back to back years is progress and Clayton almost got us in the playoffs. I’m glad he’s back.

I hope that with each passing year, your knowledge of baseball and the role of a manager continues to grow. There’s always value in gaining a deeper understanding of the game.
