Community An oblivious owner’s dog pissing in the produce aisle is proof we’ve gone too far.

This just happened at Trader Joe’s on 3rd and Fairfax. A mom and son had their dog with them in the store and I had immediately noticed they weren’t paying attention to the dog because the leash was always 5’ away from them, blocking aisles.

Then I look over and watched the dog piss on an end cap — and of course the owners weren’t watching so they had no clue. I go up to them and say “hi your dog just pissed right there in case you didn’t notice.”

They didn’t apologize, they just walked over and grabbed paper towels and dabbed it up. But they didn’t tell an employee so nobody came to properly clean up the biohazard. So I add “Also that’s really gross behavior in public, let alone in a produce aisle of a grocery store.”

As I was recording a video for the group chat, the kid said sarcastically “I hope you saved those photos” to which I said “I did but actually it’s a video.” (Stills from said video here).

YOUR DOGS DO NOT BELONG INSIDE A GROCERY STORE. AND IF YOU NEED A SERVICE ANIMAL, WHY ARE YOU NOT WATCHING THEM? WHY ARE THEY 5’ AWAY ON THE LEASH?!

I love dogs but this is where I draw my line. I informed the manager so they could properly clean it up (and they did asap), and I recognized it’s not the store’s fault per se.

Society… be better. And to those dog owners who sassed me, you’re in the wrong and you know it. Don’t act like I’m the bad guy here. You could have at least apologized or expressed an ounce of remorse.

Discussion Franklin High School teen jumped to death after experiencing bullying

Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Xavier Amaya Nungarary, a 17-year-old senior at Benjamin Franklin High School in Highland Park, Los Angeles, tragically died after falling from a fourth-floor railing on campus.

Cell phone videos circulating online revealed that a physical confrontation and severe bullying preceded the incident. The footage shows Xavier being cornered and punched in the face inside a classroom before fleeing into an outdoor corridor, where he went over the railing. His family shared that he had faced ongoing bullying throughout high school.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is conducting a thorough death investigation into the circumstances of his fall. In the wake of the tragedy, hundreds of students, family members, and community residents gathered for an emotional vigil at the school entrance to mourn his loss and demand greater accountability regarding student safety.

Public Health UCLA Dental Student Accepting Patients! 🦷🧚🏽

Post image
261 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a dental student at the UCLA School of Dentistry and I’m currently accepting new patients. I wanted to post here in case anyone in LA has been putting off dental care because of cost or doesn’t currently have dental insurance.
Treatment is provided by dental students under the supervision of licensed UCLA faculty. Because it’s a teaching clinic, appointments are longer than at a typical dental office, but fees are generally about 1/3 the cost of private practice.
The process starts with a quick, free screening appointment (typically at 7:30 AM or 12:30 PM). If you’re accepted as a patient, the next step is a full set of X-rays, which is around $70. After that, appointments are generally around 3 hours. The first couple visits focus on your medical/dental history, comprehensive exam and treatment planning. We address urgent needs first and then work through treatment according to the school clinic’s workflow.
We accept Denti-Cal and Delta Dental PPO, and self-pay patients are absolutely welcome.
If you’re interested or have questions about whether UCLA might be a good option for you, feel free to DM me here or use the contact information on my card. Happy to explain the process! 😊

Where did the rain and cool weather go? I saw rain Saturday, Sunday and Monday with temperatures in low 70s and upper 60s but now it’s back to clear and mid low 80s for those days.

Heatwave LA, please remember the animals outside

As we’re trying to stay cool during this heatwave, please remember the animals outside. If you can, leave a bowl of fresh water somewhere safe and shaded for outdoor cats, birds, squirrels, and other animals.

Locals Only Brazilian Elections

If you happen to be voting today, keep in mind that you need to go to the Veterans Memorial Park in Culver City, not the Brazilian Consulate on Wilshire.

Parking is non-existent. Take a Waymo or find some street parking nearby. Also, bring lots of water since it's 100F!

Discussion No on Measure FD

LAFD foundation is a non profit that raises money to buy LAFD members solely to supplement the city’s budget for fire department equipment, training, and technology. The foundation has purchased brush helmets, thermal cameras, motor graders, laundry extractors, and even a Bell 505 helicopter. Recent IRS documents say they raised over $100 million last year. Of course the president of the LAFD non profit made over $240k last year.

We all know about this website to type how much any public servant makes including firefighters. In 2025, Nicholas Ferrari made over $900,000. About $640,000 of that in overtime. In the same year, Peter Hsiao made close to $800,000. The current fire chief makes over $18,000 every pay period. This is all
Public information available here.

Measure FD will increase our sales tax and with the extra $300+ million annually revenue they say they will attract more firefighter and more paramedics. The current LAFD budget is how big? $900 million annually? Approximately $870 million of that already goes straight to salaries and pensions of LAFD.

Question Is anyone else getting spammed with text messages from James Talarico?

I guess he’s a politician from Texas, and he’s bombarding me with texts about his dumbass campaign, even though I live in LA. I block and report every time, and still, new messages come through. This is a bit ridiculous.
