Let me get this straight. Farmers can vote against their own interests, harm everyone, then get a handout by everyone else and keep enabling Trump to continue to harm everyone.
So this is not socialism. This is a caste system of them and everyone else.
Democrats actually can delay this. Do your job!
If they weren't continually voting republican, we might have more sympathy, the farmer/rancher voting bloc is solid republican, it's doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. The definition of insanity. Trump was incompetent as president the 1st term, that's why he was voted out.
They voted for bribes, not for good policy. Trump wrecked them his first term too, and we all had to pay for it. Farmers love welfare and taking your money.
Downvote me if you want, but I'm high past the idea of the country needing consequences for its actions. In order for us to get real change, I think it's time the people who voted for Trump understand what they did. If that means just eating rice and beans for a few months, I'm all for it. We really need generational change, and I really think that's not going to happen unless we get to depression level status.
Exactly this. Nothing changes while Americans have full bellies and whatever dumbassery is currently on TV. Cut the food and the power, suddenly things start to happen real quick.
There’s a great scene from Alpha House with John Goodman in his hometown barbershop where he realizes how much his farmer constituency takes from socialism. Can’t find it anymore but highly recommend
Those lazy farmers just need to work harder. They need to stop eating avocado toast and buying new phones and just pull themselves up by their bootstraps. It's not right for them to have their hands out all the time demanding our tax dollars.
When my business lost customers due to bad budgeting by the state GOP, I closed it, sold the equipment, and found a new career. I'm not a whiny socialism-loving bitch like these lazy farmers are.
I am confused. Why are they asking for relief for the things they asked for.
Here is a wild idea, if you don’t like how expensive things are getting … don’t vote for the guy who told you this was what he was going to do.
He told you, the country was screaming it from the rooftops, you went to the ballot box and said yes this is what I want. Now that you got exactly what wanted you’re bitching about it.
No gov't support without drug tests and standing in line and forms...yes, lots and lots of forms that make you input the same information multiple times.
Le me see if I have this straight, they hate welfare, voted for no welfare, when diesel goes up they want special welfare beyond farm subsidies, specifically to give them a now very limited resource based on scarcity they created?
The thing is, when we see these things about farms we always think of a small Mom and pop operation scraping by as the victim of tariffs and foreign policy. The truth is they voted for this not once but many times over the years, because they knew they could count on getting a bail out if things got bad, and they could make out like bandits when things were good. Literally no downside.
No mention of the clown that is responsible. They want relief from the guy who did this and the GOPedo legislature that rolled over for him went home. This will only get worse.
He hasn't bailed you out yet, he probably wont. Maybe he will promise you he will if you vote for him or more accurately his sycophants in the midterms. But dont hold your breath.
Why not just petition him to end the war and open up the Strait? Then you wouldn't have to beg for welfare, which you obviously voted against. Probably 3 times.
The big banks got bailed out with tax payer dollars after they racked up shitty debt and mortgages in 2008. The government used our money to buy up shares of the bank to replenish the money that the banks had lost.
The Auto industry got bailed out in 1980 and 2008 to the tune of a combined $81.5 billion taxpayer dollars because of poor management.
The airlines got bailed out in 2001 and 2020 with $15 billions from us
Lockheed Martin got an emergency $250 million loan from the government to keep from going under a 1971.
And as recently is 2018 the farmers of this country were bailed out with 28 billion of our dollars because they were hit with retaliatorial tariffs (under Trump. Sound familiar?)
and after all of this, we're the problem for looking for cost of living relief, student loan cancellation, social security benefits and affordable health care just to make a few?!?
Here's your relief!
Project 2025 proposes eliminating the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs, which “[protect] farmers from substantial drops in crop prices or revenues” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The plan would also “ban farmers from receiving ARC and PLC payments the same year they also receive crop insurance indemnities,” undermining farmers’ ability to plant the next crop. Moreover, Project 2025 would make it harder for small and family farmers’ to access capital via Farm Service Agency loans and undermine their ability to expand to new markets. The plan also calls for eliminating crop export promotion programs, such as the Market Access Program and Foreign Market Develo
