It turns out you cannot eat pure political rhetoric when the trade war bill comes due.

Nothing screams rugged, independent free-market capitalism quite like begging the government for a multibillion-dollar bailout because your own preferred trade policies vaporized your customer base.

You voted to burn down the global grain market and are now stunned to discover you actually have to live inside the ashes.
Broad tariff regimes inevitably trigger direct retaliatory duties on domestic agricultural exports, converting thriving family operations into federally dependent welfare cases overnight. Handing out billions in taxpayer-funded stopgap relief does not recover structural export market share; it simply forces the public to subsidize avoidable self-inflicted losses while multi-generational farms fold under the debt.

Wont happen. Sorry

Let's not forget that farm bankruptcies jumped during Trump 1. Instead of learning that his policies are detrimental for them, they voted for Trump in '20, and again in '24.

Even now, as they are feeling the consequences, they arent connecting that Trump's policies are the reasons they are experiencing hardships.
