American farmers say they are losing patience with US President Trump's trade war with China, as rising diesel and fertiliser costs squeeze margins and falling exports push more farms into bankruptcy.

He's talking about checks, handouts. Dude has been promised so many payouts but his gubmint checks aren't arriving and he's got payments to make on the new F450 Platinum King Ranch that is totally a business expense.
Farmers are the ultimate welfare queens.

MAGA Farmers: "You've taken my life's work from me, you've taken my children's future from them, you've taken my family's legacy from me... We're beginning to lose patience with this."

MAGA farmer who's lost everything, including his family because of Trump's policies:
'President Trump. I love you and support you no matter what, but...'

MAGA farmers: hell yes we voted to bomb and destroy other's lifes work, children, and legacies, and we will again!

u/AcanthaceaeWitty2662 1d ago
We've lost patience with them. Get boinked losers
8
u/IndividualIll3825 1d ago
But they do such an important job of....*checks notes*...bitching about farming on the internet.
Whatever would we do without them?
3
u/IHavePoopedBefore 1d ago
Fat bailout queens. All of them.
The whole reason Canadian's tariff Ameican milk (after their 10% import quota is reached) is because US dairy farms overproduce their market, and then instead of accepting the consequences of having too much supply, they get their government daddy to buy up all the excess.
Then the government tries to force it down the throats of neighboring countries who have strict regulations on how much milk farms can produce to avoid this exact problem
3
u/b_r_e_a_k_f_a_s_t 1d ago
He voted for Trump in 2024 and one of his top issues is he wants free trade. Dude you saw the 2016 tariffs! Didn’t Trump even threaten the 50% import tax on the campaign trail?

Pervert, cheated on all his wives. What? You thought he would help you? He’s a con. He used you, to enrich himself.
19
u/stealingmoney 1d ago
Whatever, these bozos will keep voting for Trump anyway. Can't help people who are in an abusive relationship but secretly love it.
12

u/IronBeagle63 1d ago
Losing patience for MAGA = we’ll give him 5 more elections and 2 more failed coups.
While losing farms, marriages and self respect.
5
u/Crafty-Help-4633 1d ago
Farmer suicides are way up, too.
3
u/IronBeagle63 1d ago
That’s horrible. I hope voting in their own best interests occurs to them so people aren’t pushed to this extreme. No culture war agenda is worth voting away your life.
5
u/Crafty-Help-4633 1d ago
Yeah, it's pretty grim. I agree with you, unfortunately we are locked in for a certain amount of time still with Project 2025 and it will get worse before it gets better. I hope whoever's left is capable of being deprogrammed.
3
u/sddbk 1d ago
While sad, bear in mind how many MAGAs effectively commit suicide by following right wing advice during COVID. The more a governor pushed up the infection and death rate, the more popular they become. The more a doctor provided sound medical advice, the more they were demonized.
Dying to support Trump is not a new phenomenon. We can't save them. (We tried. We failed.) We can only let nature take its course.
3
u/concepts_of_a_plan9 1d ago
Sadly, that's helping at least. By removing themselves there are less of them to fuck all of us over. What a terrible time they've created.
15
u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 1d ago
Legit question, a lot of these folks aren't "dirt poor" (lol) so why don't they just shut everything down and wait it out? Sell the equipment if you have to, use all that land for something else there's gotta be someone interested in 100s of acres of open land. Sell a few plots to a grocery store idk. If their "family farms" are inherited and paid for just scale down to minimums and ride it out. These people acting like there's nothing else they can possibly do. If they just "have to farm" could they not set up their own local/regional distribution chains?

Most farmers aren’t giving big bucks to Trump like Big Ag. So they are the only ones that he even thinks about. When a small farmer goes under no big deal to Trump. Big Ag will scoop up that farm and if lucky they will just paying the farmer to keep farming that property for them. Trump will still get money from Big Ag and the little guy that voted for Trump three times gets screwed.
6
u/Nearby_Lawfulness923 1d ago

In his first term, he started a trade war that ruined farmers. He ran in 2024 on starting more trade wars. Farmers still went and voted for him again.
Am I supposed to feel any sort of sympathy for the common clay of the new west here when they voted for this to happen to themselves again?
7
14
u/Loud-Weakness4840 1d ago
It’s not a trade war when the other side has already found different sources. This is just them moving on.

u/sixty5pan 1d ago
If nothing else from the Trump regime, we learned that farmers are racist morons, their hate is even more important than their own farms.
5
5
u/dr_snakeblade 1d ago
They can “lose patience,” but their hatred will drive them to vote for the GOP again and again. Let them fail and buy from blue dot farmers.
5
u/BitDeep2572 1d ago
It’s by design. Corporations and institutions will swoop in and buy the land for pennies on the dollar.
6
u/Financial-Reason7604 1d ago
Land quadruples in value, yet these people are suffering? Your 2 million dollar farm is now worth 8 million on the market and 20 million to a datacenter.. go cry a river to someone else, sell your shit, it's what you voted for, money. go get it assholes.

I'm a little tired of farmers thinking they're any different than anybody else. Listen, buddy, us city-slickers are optimists too. You're not special. Farmers will not realize that it is too late. You had your chance in 2024, now China is not coming back and has found other trade partners already. Diesel will remain high until Trump is gone because Iran will not negotiate with him anymore after Trump bombed their negotiation team. They voted for the leopards and this time they will not be saved. JD Vance and large corporations are going to buy up all the farms and there is nothing they can do to stop it. Have fun in the welfare lines.

If they voted Trump, I want them all to lose everything purely because they are so stupid they don't deserve to keep it. Then generationally they can pass down the story how Trump fleeced them. Except they'll probably blame it on Liberals and immigrants and keep voting Republican because they are such morons.
4
u/Altruistic-Basil-267 1d ago
All the "trouble" REPUBLICANS caused. If the Dems win, they will try to fix it and these stupid fools will be angry that ALL the destruction wasn't fixed in two years, and they will vote these jackals back in again.
Republicans WANT massive corporate farms. And they are willing to play the long game to get that. How farmers can't see that the farm bankruptcy numbers go way up when Republicans are in office, I don't understand,.
These fools think they are the chosen one that will end up as the farming overlord for their region. The problem is, that eventually only three or four corporate farms will be in charge. The odds of them being that "golden chosen" farmer are way, way, WAY stacked against them.
Why they can't see that I will never understand.

Pushing farmers into bankruptcy is by design. If only they had warnings. Guess they didn’t believe us when we tried to tell them people like JD Vance were investors in farmland with AcreTrader. And Treasury Secretary Bennett who straight up buys farms.
The cynical side of me thinks the only reason Trump and these guys keep pushing for lower interest rates “so people can buy homes” is actually so billionaires like them can buy bankrupted farms and other properties cheap. Like the housing crash of 2008. People with money got even wealthier off of regular American’s plight. History repeats itself.
Let’s be real. Farmers will vote for them again. They’ll vote for their republican representatives again next month.

But the trade with "war" China is minimally responsible for diesel and fertilizer pricing.
The attack on Iran and the subsequent war and closure of the SoH, and the tariffs and counter tariffs impacting Canadian trade. That's hitting the diesel and fertilizer pricing.
China was diversifying away from the United States agricultural imports since Trump 1.0, marginally increased under Biden, and then resumed fully under Trump 2.0.
