🗨️ Help Volunteering/Research for Premed
Hello, I'm a 2nd year premed student at LAU, and I don't know the right steps to go forward. I know I have to do volunteering (which I did at cccl in the summer) and research. However, I don't know where or how to continue, especially since I'm also balancing heavy course work. Can someone please advise me on what to do please? Thank you.

🗨️ Help Pellet boiler. Is it good?
So we've been thinking of changing our house boiler to a pellet one. For house heating and hot water.
But it is SO HARD to choose which size (kw) every place says something different than the other: some say that a 20kw maximum heat 100 radiator element, other shops say 25kw heat 250 element 🤯
We need to have it ASAP because we live at an altitude of 1.400 and it's started getting cold.
Does anyone know or have an experience with these pellet boilers??

Hello guys,
A friend of mine is travelling to Lebanon this week. Is it safe? Is there any area she should avoid?
Is it ok to visit Beirut, Batroun, Jbeil, and Keserwan?

🗨️ Help Looking for Lebanese Evangelicals females (22-26) for my friend
Hello all, my friend is Evangelical (24M), he’s very nice and smart, and he would like to meet evangelicals in Lebanon, but he doesn’t get the chance to since the community is very small, and he would love to be with someone who shares similar faith.
We don’t do this often, we all prefer meeting organically, but since the community is very small, why not try here hehe :)

💭 Discussion Shark Tank Lebanon - Any idea how good of an idea to join this program? and do they really commit to paying out what they say on TV?
I have developed an app, and already launched it. The reviews are amazing ... the only bottleneck to grow now is Marketing, which needs a huge budget. So i was approached by people who are familiar with Shark tank and said that i should present it to them. when i mentioned this thing infront of other friends, they said that they don't always commit to what they offer live on TV. maybe out of all participants who managed to land a deal, only 3 or 4 got the funding in the last season.
Anyone knows anything about the subject?

🎮 Games playbeirut.life game
I’ve been living abroad in Japan for years, and I miss Beirut a lot.
So I did the reasonable thing and started rebuilding it as a multiplayer 3D game 🇱🇧
It uses Beirut’s real geocoded streets, but the world is rendered in a hand-drawn style. You can walk around with other players, chat, take taxis, deal with parking fights, join marches, run into skaters, and do random little challenges inspired by Lebanese life — including getting a man2oushe for Teta.
Some situations let you calm things down. Others… let you make them worse 😂🇱🇧
There’s no real objective or “winning.” I mostly want it to feel like a weird little living Beirut that you can enter from anywhere.
I’m actively expanding the map, adding more Lebanese details and fixing bugs, so it’s definitely still a work in progress.
Would genuinely love feedback from Lebanese people — especially what you think is missing or what absolutely needs to exist in this world.

🗨️ Help Help identifying hollow licorice straws from Lebanon
I’m trying to find a candy I remember buying as a kid in Lebanon, especially from Hoz Store. The bag was a smoky or muted yellow with maybe 6–10 pieces. The licorice was hand-length, hollow all the way through like a straw, not filled. There were red and black ones with different flavors. The package had a cartoon licorice character with arms and legs, big googly eyes, dramatic or scared mouth, kind of like the Sour Punch vibe. The bag design felt cheap or simple, similar to old Bebeto candy packaging, but I’m not sure it was Bebeto. If anyone remembers these or knows the brand, I'd really appreciate it.

Is it safe to travel to Lebanon now? I mean I know that the situation is critical but it always was and my dream is to visit Lebanon. Is it safe to go now? If so where do you recommend to have the hotel?

💼 Career Thinking of moving to Lebanon
Saba7oooo
Let's say I'm open to come to lebanon in a couple of years with my wife and daughter and open a business in dahieh(location non nogociable)
We have a comfortable lifestyle in Canada and would not like to downgrade it. So rent + estirak/ta2a 24/7 let's say 1500$ USD per month.
If we have 40-50k USD ready to invest in Lebanon (nothing restaursnt related), how impossible would it be to be able to make 5-6K USD per month after monthly business expenses (rent+employees+ electricity+water+taxes and wtv).
We dont have a specialty that would translate to a direct opportunity in Lebanon. My wife is a SAHM mom but with a daycare teaching degree, I am a manager in a car dealership. We wouldn't necessarily want to work in those fields as realities are completely different in Lebanon.
Seeing online, ta2a installation company, ishtirak, B2B tejir bel jemleh, water filtration installation in homes to have ready to drink water from 7anafiyyeh, equipment and tool rental, car/motsik rental mar8oubeen.
I know lebanese people live on cigs+argileh+coffee+ CSGO lol but it's not the kind of business that would like to open.
Im very good with sales, inventory managment, pricing, understanding clientele and budgeting. That's why tejir B2B would be logical for me. Run by my wife and I.
Thank you for your input!!

💻 Tech Built a ride-hailing app in Lebanon focused on driver verification and passenger safety, would love honest feedback
Hey everyone,
I'm French-Lebanese, born in Lebanon, and after years of dealing with the same problems everyone here knows too well: no real public transport, sketchy informal taxis, no way to know who's actually driving you, I decided to build something about it. It's called Driver. We've been working on it for 3.5 years now.
A few things I focused on that I felt were missing from what's out there:
• Every driver's documents (license, car registration, ID) are manually checked by a person before they're approved, not just uploaded and auto-accepted.
• Facial verification before every shift, so the person picking you up is actually the one registered on the account.
• Option to request a woman driver if you're a woman traveling alone.
• SOS button during the ride.
• Live trip sharing so someone can track your ride in real time.
• Trying to keep pricing fair for riders without crushing driver margins, which felt like the actual balance to solve for, not just cheaper fares at any cost.
There's also a bunch of newer features you can discover in the app, like being able to negotiate the price directly with the driver, and a few other things we've been adding.
It's still early in terms of public rollout (company was just registered this year, based in Beirut, though the product itself has been years in the making), and I'm the one running it day to day, so I'm genuinely looking for feedback, not just trying to hype it.
You can see the app in action on our Instagram if you want a look before signing up.
Drivers can already sign up, we've had about a hundred registrations so far. Sign up here if you're interested: https://getdriver.app/driver-signup.html

Happy to answer questions about how it works.

🗨️ Help Studying medicine abroad
Hello! I’m a 17 year old Lebanese who was recently accepted into a full ride scholarship in turkey to study medicine, the only problem is that I’ll be studying in Turkish.
I wanted to ask if anybody has studied medicine abroad in a foreign language then came back to Lebanon and was able to do the colloqium, cause I’m afraid I’ll face a lot of difficulties since my program will be Turkish
