AFC Champions League Elite Pohang in the ACL

Post image

Pohang brought the smallest amount of fans I've seen, was surprised the embassy didn't help bring out Koreans to up the numbers like they did in the past. It was a weak side and a bad result (for them), but lots of talk about their show of respect post match (I know its common but its been a long time since Beijing was in the ACL so it stood out).

Is this an image of them walking all the way to the opposition supporter?

I love it when they do that and will applaud as hard as I would for the teams I support, but I will completely ignore them (for what my single action is worth) if they stand at the halfway line and pretend to care.

Yeah, they came to the 6-yard box, which was nice to see, and the fans responded very well to it (which they didn't do at the start of the 2nd half when the keeper came, but it wasn't something I think most were expecting).

How many were there? I saw basically zero on TV.

Less than 50; I've been told they expect considerably more when Jeonbuk comes next month. It was odd that they used the second-tier stand, as usually the away fans are in the third tier, but I guess it was so small it didn't matter. Overall was Beijing's lowest attendance of the season as well, with only 27,999.

Wow, Beijing having nearly 30 thousand for a weekday Champions League game is very impressive. I hope Seoul hits at least ten thousand tonight, but I doubt it.

There were Pohang fans there?
