Personal Finance » Credit Cards & Scores Rakuten credit card delivery

Hey guys, quick question regarding my Rakuten credit card. I got approved, and it was shipped on September 25th, but I still haven’t received it. I’m in the Miyagi/Tōhoku region.
If they tried to deliver it while no one was home, would they leave a missed-delivery notice in my mailbox so I can reschedule the delivery for a date/time that works for me? Thank you.

It is highly recommended to check your postal mail.

They should have provided you with the delivery information. Call them. It should not take this long. I think their first cards generally get delivered by Sagawa with ID-verification.

An absence slip would absolutely be inserted into the post box if a delivery attempt failed.

Check whether you have your address registered at the post office (this is *separate* from your registration at the city hall). When I moved to Japan, I didn't know residence registration also had to be done at the post office, and I had a cash card from JP Post Bank bounce because of that. (Returned to sender as soon as it arrived in the local distribution center).

Rakuten registered mail usually gets delivered by Japan post for me. You should get a missed delivery slip because it needs to be signed for.

If for whatever reason they aren’t sure if you live where you do, j-post will leave a prepaid post card addressed to them asking to confirm the names of everyone in the household and once you send that back to them to confirm they will deliver it.

It’s only been a week. Japan Post can take more than that.

Did you get tracking information? If not, I’d give it a couple more days.

Mine took a while to receive if I remember right. Also they'll leave a redelivery slip if you're out.

It makes you nervous when you're thinking about Amazon, doesn't it? But actually, unlike Amazon delivery drivers who might just toss the package down and leave, they’ll put a missed delivery slip in your mailbox if you aren't home, so it’s fine.
