Found this on dvd not so long ago, and finally gave it a watch. What a great movie. Not that it surprised me, but I had to see it for myself. I enjoyed it a lot. Great acting from all the cast. Even saw Old Man Marley from Home Alone.

The movie was well directed, and doesn't try to complicate things. Straight forward story telling. And it doesn't feel dated at all.

So one documentary that I had on my watchlist on Tubi for a while that I finally got around to seeing was the 2015 documentary Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead. This told the history of National Lampoon, which started out as a magazine, similar to mad magazine and then transitioned into a radio show and movies.

Going into this movie, the only thing I knew about National Lampoon was from the movies. I thought this was a very good documentary. You were able to hear a lot of people that worked for the magazine and their experiences but also some of the more famous people like Chevy Chase and Kevin Bacon and how they got involved with the brand. Also, I just found it entertaining.

Overall, I didn’t know what to expect going into this movie, but I’m glad I watched it because it was a good surprise
