Opinion Feeling bad for sheepstealer
I want that Rhaenyra should loose her kingdom just because she attacked sheepstealer and rhaena should go to exile for using him. He was so happy stealing sheeps and living a free life. But these targaryen’s are just evil. I am on ormund side just for this reason. Never thought i will feel sad for a cgi dragon. I mean he is a bit odd looking than other dragons but never deserved this fate.

Opinion I genuinely feel bad watching this show
Until this point I was OK with show’s downs. As being someone who read the book, I’ve accepted that the show was its own thing and honestly I had some fun making fun of the infinite plot holes of the show.
But during the first scene between Alicent and Aemond I paused and seriously yelled I can’t take it anymore and took a smoking break.
This is beyond plot holes, and bad writing. There is genuinely something wrong with Condall with how he is treating sex, relationships, family, and truma. I think this man needs some serious therapy.

Opinion The "trap" made no sense. Why endanger Tully men, when the dead men would've sufficed as reason for investigation and the Greens were pretty much already surrounded? Cole had like 20 guys with him. A handful archers would've gotten the job done

Opinion Just realized that Rhaenyra's screentime makes up 1/4 of the entire season...

Opinion I waited so long to see Black Aly, only to find her so cringey.
Idk what happened. Idk why they made her look this way or why she found keeping innocent people and children safe was boring but okay.
I was so excited for the Winter Wolves storyline. It was okay but I found her to be meh. Hopefully in the next season shes more book accurate?
Im anxious about the Hour of the Wolf now. Not to mention I didnt even realize who this was until she killed Cole.

Opinion Say whatever you want about Daemon, but his fearless nature is quite admirable
I feel like this is something both sides can agree on. He may not be the strongest fighter or the most timpressive dragon- rider, but I like how he just doesn't seem to be afraid of anything.

Opinion “Young Rhaenyra would never”Well yes, because young Rhaenyra hadn’t lived through any of this yet. The young vs older Rhaenyra discourse has officially outlived its usefulness!
I beg. We have done this discourse to death.
Yes, teenage Rhaenyra was more fun, reckless and fiery. She was also a teenager with considerably fewer dead children and succession crises to deal with.
You can prefer one performance, obviously, but acting like older Rhaenyra is somehow a completely different character because she isn’t behaving exactly like she did at 17 is starting to make me itch.
That is… generally what happens when people age and terrible things keep happening to the

Opinion "not my story any longer"
galleryIt's my favorite show atm.
I wait ansiously for each new episode and rewatch them at least 2 times after.
Devoured the book as well.
But let's be very honest at this point: it's a series based on a book, and the book's author says 'is not my story any longer.'
That leaves us with producers like Condall (who openly ignored Martin and asked his assistants to deal with him - humiliating) and Hess with a wide-open path for 'brilliant original ideas of their own'. (picture dialogs between them like 'wow! i have an idea! what if they bla bla bla?')
I'll keep watching and cheering with the same excitement, but atm script is already going down the hill, and tbh I believe we may unfortunately brace ourselves for season 4 with a finale as dystopian as the one from Game of Thrones.
Our last hope lies in bringing Jennifer Coolidge as Rhaenyra on season 4, as I've recently watched a video from behind the scenes presented by Emma D'Arcy where, despite the many compliments, she sounded same level of wtf as the GoT cast when they were on season finale - and I can only but share her vibes right now.
[disclaimer]
- if anyone from cast ever read my bulshit (and I believe some might do - Star Trek cast once did) - know that I love your work.
- the meme with Jennifer Coolidge is OC by me on Paint - top quality graphics for the good of the Realm.

Opinion I really like this guy whenever he is on screen
galleryMaybe its the haircut or maybe the fact that he looks like what I imagine a medival soldier would look like compared to the stack of hyper handsome actors.
But his whole vibe is really cool.

Opinion Despite everything, her love for her children is quite laudable
The funny thing about her bond with her children is that she never particularly desired a family when she was young.
Her children seemed to not only have changed her paradign, but ( in my opinion) contributed to making her
less reckless than she would've been without them.
As compared to people like Alicent, (who would willingly poison her own son,) I imagine Rhaeneyra would've surrendered early if one of her children were put at risk or taken hostage by the greens.
I was particularly touched by how she deigned to protect Rhaena even after realizing she was Sheepstealer's rider.

Opinion I never thought I’d say this, but HOTD has become genuinely bad.
I’m someone who believes that, as audiences, we’ve become overly sensitive to every little detail we personally don’t like, and that we complain far too much.
However, I genuinely cannot comprehend how bad this show has become. I love House of the Dragon and the Dance of the Dragons so much that I always assumed I’d never stop watching it, no matter how bad it got. But now I find myself watching these episodes with nothing but a tragic, cringeworthy smile on my face.
I even like some of the changes they made from the books. I wasn’t even upset that they removed Nettles, and I actually found it interesting that Rhaena and Sheepstealer indirectly caused Jace’s death (although removing Aegon and Viserys completely confuses me). But the way they execute everything is just awful.
It literally feels like fan fiction. Nothing logical is happening anymore. It genuinely seems like it was written either by AI or by a ninth grader.
Not only do the characters constantly make unbelievably stupid decisions, but it also feels like the writers don’t even understand the characters they’re writing. The dialogue is terrible too. So many scenes are so painfully cringeworthy that they become unintentionally funny.
I loved Season 1. Season 2 definitely had its problems, but I still loved the show overall. These last few episodes, though, have been pure comedy.
Even the cinematography has become terrible over the last three episodes. Everything is graded in a way that makes it feel like I’m watching a generic Netflix fantasy show instead of the visually stunning series we got in Seasons 1 and 2.
The score has also fallen off a cliff. Season 1, especially, knew when not to use music, which made many of its dramatic scenes far more powerful. First two episodes were at least 8/10 (without being a brat complainer), but now —especially in Episode 3—every single moment has music underneath it, and, as someone with a degree in music, I honestly think it’s one of the weakest TV soundtracks I’ve ever heard.
Just rewatch almost any scene from Season 1, and you’ll immediately notice how much stronger the cinematography, score, writing, pacing, and dialogue were.
Alicent betraying her entire family and house and sacrificing her three fucking sons is so laughable and beyond logic that I cannot even get mad at her character. And then her saying to rhaenyra to run with her… like WHAT! And when Rhaenyra tells Alicent she needs to take Aegon’s head because of “son for a son”… when Jahaerys is dead… killed by Daemon… and Alicent still agreeing to this deal…….
Rhaenyra sneaking into King’s Landing to talk to her ex-bestie… so fucking stupid and unbelievable but still tolerable.
Every Green character made into a psycho or pervert or just the most terrible people, even Ormund - boring. Even Otto’s idea to bring cats to solve rat problem was given to the Blacks and to Alyn of all people.
Making Blacks almost always look like the victims and all the atrocities caused by them mistakes or misunderstandings.
If it was Rhaenyra’s decision to Kill Laenor and not help him escape - I would fucking love it even more. If Rhaenyra was shocked by Daemon’s killing of Jahaerys, but still somewhat cheered - I would still be Team Black because it would be more interesting to see she actually has a ruthless wild side. I like many many bits of show rhaenyra but she’s just too weak. How did she forget everything about ruling when she was a cupbearer and even sat on the council for like a decade? It’s not logical.
Season 1 actually had many moments which showed that Rhaenyra was no saint at all, she was wrong in many things and made stupid decisions, but I LOVED her character even more because of that. She fled King’s Landing back in season 1 because it wasn’t comfortable and that Hightowers were “taking over” the throne. By fleeing you will make it even easier, girl. It was stupid but I still liked that she made mistakes. When Luke cut Aemond’s eye, she didn’t care even a bit about her half-brother’s health, and even demanded to be “sharply questioned” (which usually means torture). Her saying to her father “thank you” in that scene is such an arrogant and insulting attitude that Alicent understandably loses her shit, even tho she’s also a bitch.
The point is I LOVED rhaenyra because of her behavior in season 1. She wasn’t very smart, wasn’t a saint, she was even a bit entitled, but it made her a believable character. Now she’s just a woman who’s aaaalways being played around by men (i like the idea but there should be a limit).
I loved this show but I cannot see it as a serious show anymore.
Edit: my thought now that the season 3 is over - i’ve always wanted darker crueler Rhaenyra, but they just somehow made her even more annoying ((.
