I'm a nobody, but imo what you want is people with (1) a history of participation in this sub, but also (2) who have never complained about how "you're not allowed to say anything" and certainly no one who called you a fascist or whatever in this thread because you said not to be sexist. You probably want someone who's commented in this sub but never posts, or at least isn't one of the regular weirdo incel grievance posters.
It's also worth considering if the sub will just die if what people are here for is to be racist, it might be a lot of work to turn this space into a more moderated one while also giving it a reason to exist. Right now as far as I can tell its appeal is just that it's been the least-moderated of the medium-to-large unpopular opinion type subreddits.

With respect, this is unfortunately just what happens with a "let's keep moderation lax" kind of approach which I assume is what was the case before this, whether that was on you or not. People find those spaces because they can be sexist and racist, and now they're mad they can't do that any more.

Part of it being overwhelming is the fact it isn’t a job. Most people have a higher tolerance for bullshit when they’re getting paid.
It’s not like “the rent is due and I need to make $500 in 24 hours” or “I’m pinned down in enemy territory with no way to communicate” overwhelming. But, still, it does feel like you don’t have enough time to give everyone consideration.

If you’re genuinely looking for another set of hands, I’d be willing to help out some.
I do have work, school, family and my own projects going on, so I wouldn’t want to promise daily coverage or pretend I can live in the mod queue.
But if what you need is another reasonably level-headed person who can help clear obvious rule violations, spam, personal attacks and keep things from turning into political cage fighting, I’d be willing to pitch in when I’m available.
No power trip, no desire to become Supreme Chancellor of the Sidebar.
Just offering because it sounds like you’re doing way too much of it alone.

People in the comments are acting like political discussion subs don't exist. But at the same time, i do think politics have kinda invaded everything so someone may genuinely get punished for an accidental political discussion in comments under a post that isnt inherently political. I guess an example would be if a woman prefers being a SAHM rather than having a career, but it turns into "trad wife vs girl boss" discussion in comments, which can become political even if the subject itself isn't nessassarily.
But overall yeah im tired of bigots using this as an excuse to just demonize groups of people. Not cool. Also saw youre the only mod, God bless you genuinely lol 🙏
