Seeing those internals rolling is pure beautiful insanity

I wonder why they even bothered with the .4 after 102 LITERS!
That's like saying, "Naw, that's not a 392, heck that's a 393!"

Don't have to imagine. I saw an emd 645E run away. 30ft jet of fire shooting out of the stack. No one was gonna risk getting anywhere near that thing, I killed the fuel pump but it was scavenging oil from the sump. We just let it run until it burned out.

Too small for a train and definitely Not a large ship but maybe small ship. Tug boat maybe.
I saw an engine in this size setting on the bank of the Ohio river in KY once, it was washed up after a flood. It was probably 12’ tall and 15’ wide. It really gave me a new understanding for the power of water. It was gone by the next year after a good flood.1

I think the most logical would be a ship engine. But idk how locomotive engines look like so.

I want it. Just to have it on a stand in my garage so I can start it and hear it run.

Awesome, but I hate that chain just chilling there next to the output shaft. Giant engine roaring to life catches that and it’s taking your arm. Or life.

Here's a comparison I just thought of, I don't even know if it's in the some ballpark, is there an automatic weapon that costs the same money per second to fire as this would to idle?

Probably some beltfed 22LR running somewhat slowly. Maybe an MP-40 with extremely cheap 9mm. Dunno, I’d need to know the fuel consumption of that beast.

Maybe 10liters / hour if at low load,

That’s my guess too. I have a gmc 7500 that gets 5-6mpg under load but my best estimation is about 1/2 gallon per hour at idle. Diesels at idle really don’t need much
