what is with the ron bashing??

Like why is there so many abusive ron dramione fics???? What did Ron ever do to deserve that? Please explain.

I've been kind of hooked lately on Harry x Draco female fanfiction, do you have any recommendations for fanfics with that theme?

(I like long fanfics, so if you have any good ones I'd love to read them, I don't mind short fanfics either.)

I’ve seen the description for this fic a couple times while scrolling through Ao3, and wanted to give it a shot, but now I can’t find it. The description stated that Harry was mistaken when he thought it was his father who saved him, when it was his actually mother. I am devastated. 6 years ago, a strange looking woman walked into our home and told us that our son Colin can do magic, and there is a school that can teach him magic.

We found it hard to believe but it explained so many strange things that happened around us over the last few years. We were struggling with money and it seemed like an expensive endeavor, but we were told the school would help. And they did. But now I wish I never took their blood money.

In the first year, we received a letter that Colin was sick, but we didnt know the extent of his “sickness” till he came back home over the summer. He was super excited when he told me how he took a photograph of a giant snake thingy, and that petrified him. I was so mad at the lady that came to our house, why wasnt I informed about this? I deserved to know sooner, and the full truth. What was this slur that’s being thrown at my kids - mudblood or something like that.

Then a couple of years later news about this kid that got killed, and rumors of an evil dark lord returning. I didnt want Colin and Deniss to go back. But they said its all good, Harry will fix everything. Was there really no adult that could fix things? I heard of professors and students that were just outright bullies and the headmaster did nothing to stop them.

More concerning news that the headmaster was killed by another teacher. They apparently were lovers or something.

But now, my worst fears have come true. My precious little son is dead. He is gone… I told him to not go back but he didnt listen. He wanted to help, and his brother followed him. I just cant believe it happened.

No one is able to give me any details on who did it and why. Colin never hurt anyone, he was such a sweetheart. My heart feels empty without him. We were simple people and didnt ask for this wizarding life. My husband won’t look me in the eye, he thinks its all my fault.

I feel rageful and want to expose this school for what it is. Has anyone else heard of Hogwarts?

I’ll looking for a AO3 fic that has Harry having a twin half brother and he (Harry) being the biological son of Sirius Black. James Pitter knew thand basically had everyone treating Harry like crap. I can’t remember the name. TIA

I am looking for a fic where James and Lily are alive and Neville is the BWL. The fic takes place in seventh year and Harry is the head boy with Daphne as the head girl. The two of them has been at odds for the last six years but they warm up to each other during the year. Lily was in a coma for many years. Daphnes parents are killed over Christmas by deatheaters. I don’t believe it is finished.

I swear every fic ive read where Cedric manages to live, he ends up breaking up with Cho because the author needs harry and cho to be a thing for book 5. If Cedric even gets to survive the maze.

So does anyone have and fanfics where Cedric does survive and lives happily ever after with Cho?

Doesnt have to be a main story point or anything, it just bugs me that so many fanfics make earlier story changes that do basically no difference to the overall plot

I can’t remember the name or find it, but I remember the entire story. It was a time travel fanfic with Dumbledore as the main villain instead. Harry and Sirius wrote messages to Amelia Bones under the pseudonym “Cassandra” pretending to be a seer and got things taken care of before they happened (i.e. the philosopher’s stone, the chamber of secrets, Sirius’ trial, etc.). I remember that Sirius turned one of the Black estates into an orphanage-type place for Slytherins by bringing them into the house of Black to stop them from becoming Death Eaters by their parents. In the end, they destroyed the Horcruxes and at the end Lily and James come through the Veil and come back to life, and I’m like 99% sure regulus did too, but that could be another fic. Dumbledore refuses to believe Voldemort’s gone and kidnaps Harry and there’s a standoff between Dumbledore and Harry’s parents and a bunch of Aurors and Dumbledore is defeated. There’s also a Wolfstar wedding and Lily and James get to attend.

I’ve been looking all over and I cannot find this fic. Maybe it was taken off of Ao3 or something, but I remember it so vividly. If anyone knows it PLEASE TELL ME!

Basically I’m craving more Harry Potter. I just finished the full cast audio books and they were an amazing experience reliving the books.

I feel like if they used alchemy to create malleable guns then they can use transfiguration magic (or some kind of alchemy? I’m not sure how it would work though) to make two smaller guns into a larger singular gun. As long as the mass is the same it could work as that’s the rule in alchemy I think. Depending if the Wixen (is that the right term for describing magic humans??) knows wandless magic or not changes the overall practicality of it.
(Ex. Using Transfiguration Magic to warp the Two Duel Hand Guns into a Snipper Rifle)

With it being magical they could make it like a catalyst kinda like a wand but more precise and practical. Like imagine aiming a sniper rifle and shooting out a Confringo aimed at a certain point and it blows the entire area! And since it changes forms, you could even make so that certain forms have different levels of power.
(Ex. Smaller Guns shooting Weaker Spells than a Sniper Rifle or a Machine Gun)

With shrinking spells, they could make the tech as small as basic jewelry and wear them as such. This makes it seemingly unnoticeable and easier to carry than a wand. They could also add notice me not charms or use transfiguration to change it’s appearance.
(Ex. Two Duel Hand Guns as earrings that unclip and grow in size as you take hold)

Edit: This has been on my mind for a while recently, and I feel like it’s a solid method tbh. Let me know if there is anything that doesn’t make sense for that I should add!

I'm looking for some Harry Potter fics that are really different when it comes to magic and action.

Some of the things I'm looking for:

Harry who genuinely loves fighting and actually enjoys magical combat.

Or just fics with really well-written, epic fight scenes.

Huge battles with lots of people involved, rather than just two characters standing there shooting spells at each other.

New types of magic that aren't normally seen in HP fanfiction.

Really unique magical abilities, systems, rituals, spells, artifacts, etc.

Creative uses of magic during fights.

Magical items that actually feel interesting and different.

Basically, I want that feeling of "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MAGIC?!" while reading 😂

I'm completely fine with AUs, canon divergence, different versions of the wizarding world, or even stories that barely resemble canon anymore.

I don't really care about the pairing either. Action, worldbuilding and unique magic are the main things I'm looking for.

If you've read something with absolutely ridiculous magical battles or a completely new take on how magic works, PLEASE recommend it.

I want the weird stuff. The creative stuff. The absolutely insane wizardry. 😭

Does anyone have good fics to recommend?

You know that feeling that you’ve constantly searched for since the first fic you ever read made you feel some kind of way and it’s always been there just out of reach? Like the feeling of pure giddy, elation, joy because you know you’re reading a fic that’s about to change your life?

I’m 10% into a 900k+ fic (The Cadence of Part Time Poets) and I already know I’m in this bubble of bliss for at least 2-3 more weeks and I am absolutely reveling in this fleeting moment. I’ve read probably about 150 fics by now and this is only the 3rd time I’ve felt this way. Did anyone else feel this way with this fic?!?!? I was dubious about even starting this one bc I read All the Young Dudes right before it and I didn’t love it and thought TCOPTP would be the same… I was so wrong

The other two that made me feel this way are “Of a Linear Circle” and “Manacled” (bc it was the first fanfic I ever read)

During the Second Task, every single student at Hogwarts learned the person Harry cares most about…is Ron. Not Hermione, that girl he hangs out with so often. Not even some other secret girlfriend. But Ron Weasley. And, wait. Weren’t the two seen sneaking off together during the Yule Ball? Into the maze where everybody goes to kiss each other?

Practically by the morning after the Task, the majority of the student body comes to a conclusion only gossiping teenagers could: Harry and Ron are secretly gay and in love with each other. Every attempt they make to try to convince the students otherwise just shoves them deeper into this hole. Hell, even their dormmates are starting to believe it! What were they supposed to do?!

Bonus points if this makes Harry and Ron eventually realize they actually ARE in love with each other!

Hopefully not ones that just make them split a single sentence between the two of them, and actually goes a little in-depth about their characters. Bonus if you can actually tell the slight differences in their personalities.

So I got on the bandwagon and decided to start writing my own Harry Potter fanfiction. Unfortunately my story got out from under me pretty quickly... I wanted to tell a story of what would actually happen if Harry Potter was thought dead after the Voldemort incident. In this universe the infant is adopted by the Addams, and for 10 years The wizarding world believes Harry Potter is dead.

Instead of potter, now Neville longbottom is the child of prophecy. He is the one being trained up, protected from Voldemort.. but on Charles's Addams and Wednesday shared birthday safari, (at a rundown zoo recently bought by Gomez) he is discovered, and The wizarding world freaks out learning that the boy that died still lives.

So, my Instagram "For You" page suddenly became filled with fan art of a female Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter flirting. I couldn't help but be fascinated by the idea of an Enemies to Lovers fanfic.

So, recommend your best fanfic featuring a relationship between Harry Potter and a female Draco Malfoy.

Im trying to remember a fic I read a while back, and I can't seem to find the name.

From what I remember; it started in the 5th or 6th year, Harry could do magic that ignored the "rules of magic" as long as he didnt know them, there was a fight at Grimuld place where he said "Im just Harry" after, and the battle for hogwarts was super wacky.

It's a crossover with the ghostbusters series. Basics are Harry is raised by the ghostbusters and when he goes to Hogwarts he does so with Spengler's niece. They terrify peeves, accidentally sneak Slimer into the school and reveal all the ghostbusters are squibs or wizards who don't want to deal with the magical world beyond ghosts and ghouls. It's also revealed one of them had their family banned from the wizard side of the UK for nearly causing a full collapse of the state of secrecy.

There's also a bit where they are theorising if a proton pack and ghost trap would be effective against a dementor or not

I’m looking for a fic I read in late 2020 on fanfiction.net. It’s centered around Draco and an original female character and the story of how they become enemies to lovers. I distinctly remember it being long and also being written by a woman, and there’s a section in the book around Chapter 40-50 (maybe?) where the female character is kidnapped by Voldemort and forced to fight against him & Bellatrix. Other than this i don’t remember much.
