Guys, search this subreddit for your question first!

It's so incredibly annoying to have to go through the same 2 questions 60 times a day when the answer was given months ago, save yourself the time and just search your question please. No, you're not the only one with the November patch!

I want to put one ui 6 Noble ROM, or UN1CA on one ui 8, if you've had experience, give advice on whether to stitch. I don't want to lose this device as its camera is still great.

Dropped my S9 in the toilet and now it doesn't turn on

The gist of it is as the title says. I dropped it in when it was clean thankfully and the proceeded to try to dry it, shaking the water off, audios to remove the water from the audio port, the blow drier all that. The blow drier did make it too hot for a second too.

However, at some point it shut down and now it wont turn on. I am almost sure i fried it accidentaly because i didn't turn it off immediatily after the drowning situation. Is there anything i can do? I mostly need for the files and convos in it if i could just retrieve those it would be of great help.

Starting with a Galaxy S9+

Hello all!!
I just recently found a Galaxy S9+ in a box of leftover phones I had, and something about it intrigued me for a 2018 phone. As of now its going:
It will not charge because its straight up missing the wireless charging coil (Ordered a new one, should be here soon)

But the phone has enough power to turn on and such on cable power.

When I get this phone fixed, I'm wondering what I can do with it in terms of 'modding'
As someone who has been stuck with an iPhone for the past few years, it would be nice to have this phone as a secondary or something.
I've been seeing a lot about LineageOS, so I assume I should try that out first, so how should I go about that?

Also on the subject of the wireless charging coil, is there a way to remove it AND retain charging functionality? I was thinking of a clear back piece.

Lineage os 24.0 - My experience

Post image

Disclaimer: didnt use it for that long plus i dont daily my s9 anymore, i did daily it for the first half of 2026 with lineage os 23.0 and 23.2. Lineage os 24.0 is also in beta, so there are a few bugs. BUUUUT:

The performance is wiiiild. Lineage os 23 was silky already, but 24 brings it to a new level. The kernel now has every backport now that it needs for android 16/17 so naturally performance is more mature. My biggest issue with it on 23 was the ram usage. I only have a 4gb model so ram is very limited. To be fair ram usage is a lot better than firmware or one ui ports, but still (of course) it felt weird to use along my 16gb tablet. Now with the backports, more swap (4gb) and better ram compression, you get about 3-3.5gb of free ram. Which is VERY noticable. Lineage os 24.0 still closes apps for me, but it has gotten super rare. It also doesn't get nearly as warm anymore because the SOC doesnt need to load everything new constantly. Also VOLTE works, it also works on 23.2 so if you have the s9, i gotta say this is the way to go. For battery i got about 6h of sot on 23.2, i expect it to be more on 24.0. Also i have no google apps and use micro g instead. Would you try this?

Purchasing one because it is the best looking phone even in 2026

Looking to buy a Samsung S9 for wired earphones, PC game streaming via Moonlight, and casting.

Can someone PLEASE confirm if I can cast video to a TV while playing audio through wired earphones connected to the phone? It is one of the biggest reasons I'm picking it up.
And also because of how sexy it looks.

Also curious to know how you use this phone in 2026 :)

Galaxy S9+ Suddenly Entered a Boot Loop - How Can I Fix It Without Losing My Data?

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello everyone! I've had a Galaxy S9 Plus for quite some time. It's an excellent phone and has basically never given me any real problems. However, something unusual happened recently.

I went to sleep and left my phone somewhere else, as I normally do. When I woke up, however, I found the phone hot (as if it had been in constant use) and it was on the screen shown in the attached photo.

The screen gave me several options, such as trying again, erasing the data, powering off the phone, etc. As soon as I saw it, I immediately selected "Try again." The phone restarted and eventually reached the lock screen. As soon as I tried to unlock it, it restarted again. When it reached the lock screen again, the same thing happened.

This continued in an endless boot loop. The phone would restart, reach the lock screen, and then restart again shortly afterward. After doing this countless times, it would eventually return to the recovery screen shown in the photo.

When it happened again and the phone returned to this screen, I selected "Power off" to shut the phone down and prevent it from continuing the endless reboot loop.

The phone has never had any problems before or anything like that. This is the first time something like this has ever happened.

I have photos of my family, personal information, and other data stored on the device that I really don't want to lose. They include irreplaceable things and memories that I don't want to give up.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how I could try to recover my data without losing it?

My bixby button fell out and i can't find it anymore. I have a S8 midframe and i was wondering if i can take the bixby button from the S8 and put it in the S9+, to be able to press it.

How to fix my galaxy s9?

I have the usual display problem where the screen starts glitching between 20 and 80 percent brightness and even when its working it has strong discoloration.

Ive read this might be related to the thermal sensor breaking somehow. The previous owner told me it was a new screen and it really is scratch free so it shouldnt be faulty. Seems like the internals were swapped from a black frame to a purple one too. When I let it sit powered off then turn it on and dont let the screen go to sleep it displays accurate colors and the full brightness range works as soon as I lock and wake up the phone again it has the green tint and flashes in the mid brightness range.

Another annoying problem is the accelometer not working. The values are odd some being constantly above 10000, but the values seem to change accordingly to movement, its just not accurate and there is no way to calibrate. Photos always taken in portrait and auto rotate doesnt work.

The last small problem is the heart rate sensor not working. It doesnt come up at all in samsung health, in the test menu it doesnt even light up.

Time for lineage OS?

Has anyone installed lineage OS on their samsung s9? (I have the s9 plus).

I wanted an updated android version as some apps are beginning to stop working on my phone unfortunately, although the phone is still solid.
