You know what's crazy when I was 11 and in the mental hospital I was groped by a elder boy there and he did this to other girls and I told the staff and they told me they would have the cops come and let me make a report 2 weeks would pass and nobody would came the boy continued to harass me to the point where the older boys would stand by my room or block where I was sitting at lunch so the boy would come by and one of the other girls who had the same thing happen to her told the cops and last I heard it didn't go anywhere

I will never judge another survivor for not reporting an assault... until they decide to do the same thing to
a fellow survivor. At which point, fuck you Megyn, you're a total hypocrite and you're on your own.
The legal system is traumatic and justice is often hard to come by. And as a CSA survivor, I know how trauma often clouds your memory, be it for weeks, months, years, or even decades. You shouldn't need a timely legal complaint to believe women.

Not to mention many survivors have a hard time believing they were assaulted, they use this "I am probably mistaken" as a coping mechanism. Sometimes they lack confidence to come forward for fear of disbelief. Sometimes they want time to process the trauma, seek therapy and then report. Sometimes they want to share their experience with their close friends and family members, get their support and advice and then report. Megan Kelly is a fucking monster.

Every time people say this shit I’m reminded of this passage from Chanel Miller’s memoir:

If she emerges, why don’t we ask her how it was possible she lived with that hurt for so long, ask who taught her to never uncover it”

She also defended the pedophiles in tbe Epstein Files, claiming that a 15 year old is a woman, not a girl. Her own daughter was 15 at the time. Would she have left her alone in a room with any of those guys in the files? Sometimes the women that are hardest on other women who report sexual assault are women that have been assaulted themselves. There is some kind of weird psychology there i can't figure out. It expands into other areas too. Like my ex-friend who told me when Roe vs Wade was overturned that it doesn’t bother her that it was overturned because she is now in menopause. I reminded her that she benefitted from R v W three times when she was fertile. There are also women that have told me they won't ever go back to a female gynecologist because they felt that they were rougher with them during examinations than their male counterparts and disregarded their concerns more than male gynecologists. Up until my recent doctor, I have had a similar experience.

From what I've seen this past week is how little knowledge people seem to have about the typical behaviour after sexual assaults. The doubt in one's one feelings, the denial, the shame, not wanting "to make a scene", the anxiety, ...
And then there are people like Kelly - just vile..

The Community Note is actually a bit off, and the accurate version is worse for her.
Kelly did report Ailes at the time. By her own account she told a supervisor in 2006. He told her Ailes was just infatuated and to keep away from him, so she kept quiet for ten years until Gretchen Carlson sued. She told someone inside the institution, the institution sat on it, and she went formal years later.
That is Jane Doe's path too. She went to Cornell's police about three weeks later. Kelly asks why she didn't go to Ithaca police instead, but Cornell's police are sworn police and the frat house is their jurisdiction. She told the officer she was 100% confident she'd been raped, and the summary sent to the DA left that out.
And three weeks is early. About 80% of sexual assaults against female students never get reported to police at all.
