So I was recently reminded that Poison Elves was a thing and I've been revisiting/discovering it all over again. I know Drew Hayes cited both Cerebus and Elfquest as big inspirations for Poison Elves but I'm now reading there may have been some beef between Hayes and the Pinis? It may be a load of hooey, as Hayes had a fake feud going on with Brian Michael Bendis while he was doing Jinx, but I figured I'd ask here.

The first time I heard about Elfquest was from a friend. It was their childhood.

It took me some time to actually check out the series, but now I'm glad I started. It would've been nice to be a part of the fandom much earlier but I actually don't mind finding out about it as an adult. I feel like I can appreciate the story in a different way. I love the personal freedom of the characters and also their romantical and sexual openness and the strong bonds they have across these relationships. It's been depicted in such a beautiful way that I seldom see in other places.

And of course the rest of the story is also captivating, very rich and colourful story and characters. I only read "The Original Quest", but I already fell in love with it. Looking forward to reading the rest of Elfquest.

I just started new blood and I'm a bit confused on the lore.

I've read original quest siege kings shards and hidden years.

But I'm not sure how new blood fits in. Like I get that some of the canon is a bit loose.

I just want to know what new blood is really about. Like what is it's main plot?

Is there anything I need to know before going in?

The end goal is to have the whole deck full of Wendy Pini's artwork it's just a tedious process.

Hi all,
With the release of the beautiful Hidden Years Gallery Edition, I have to ask if anyone noticed or can explain why the iconic Cutter pinup from the back cover of issue 1 was not included in the first Gallery Edition that features issues 1-5.

I have a first edition printing I purchased when it came out and all other back cover pinups are included. What’s the story??

I picked up volume 8 at a Barnes & Noble a few months ago, got around to starting it, and these sons of zwoots stuck what looks to be an anti-theft sticker *to a page halfway through the book*. Like stuck stuck. To the page. No way to remove it. Figured I should warn folks.

My dad found his old comics. I saw and looked up elfquest. And now I've been reading through the story online. I'm on new blood now. Plz no spoilers thx.

Thought I’d post it here. I do like the art and I’ll see about giving it a shot.

So in Final Quest many characters are sporting a small diamond shaped thing that looks like a piece of the palace, in some frames they seem to glow. Leetah, Nightfall, Strongbow and others can be seen wearing them.

In Stargazers Hunt a similar jewel that Goldruff wears is spoken about and explained, but I can’t tell if these things are described or even acknowledged in Final Quest.

In the stories just before, Searcher and the Sword and Discovery, they don’t appear. They seem to be new to Final Quest.

Did I miss an explanatory panel? What are they? Why are they? From whence did they come?

Hi! I grew up on my mom's copy of the first four volumes, the beautifully colored ones that I think are referred to as the "Starblaze" ones. I know you can read the comics for free on the website, but now that I'm an adult I'm trying to collect physical copies of the later comics as well (especially colored versions).

I've been kind of scouting around the wikipedia page, trying to figure out chronology. Should I just grab everything even vaguely Elfquest related that I find on Ebay, or do you recommend certain comics/collections over others?

(Also, I know this is a small community, so if you happen to stumble across this post a few months down the line, please do comment anyway! I'd like all the information I can get.)
