While Watching the Other NLDS
I’m torn as to who I want to win between SD and Milwaukee. Can’t they both just lose?

Root for 5 games.

That's not gonna happen now lol that was a BRUTAL loss for the Padres

u/MarcBulldog88 Orel Hershiser 6h ago
It was fucking glorious, that's what it was.

u/NK84321 Evan Phillips 6h ago
The first game was bad luck, this game they straight up CHOKED
On the negative side, the Brewers will have a nice and rested pitching staff now. Miz and Henderson will be ready to go with plenty of rest.

i wouldn’t even say choked, just horrendous managing BP/closing strategy and chourio having decent AB discipline

No. I’m rooting for SD to lose 3 heartbreakers in a sweep. If we don’t win it all because Milwaukee wasn’t super spent, I’ll live w that

Why am I stressed over a game the Dodgers aren't playing in?
45
u/MarcBulldog88 Orel Hershiser 6h ago edited 6h ago
Because we want to avoid the possibility of getting eliminated by the Padres in the NLCS, and the tsunami of idiocy from everyone else's fans that would follow.

I would rather play the padres than the brewers. The brewers are a way stronger team.

u/BruitNoise Mookie Betts 6h ago
Not stressed but happy that the Padres suck. I can't really say anything negative about the Brewers. I would feel better knowing that we can beat a strong team like the Brewers and it proves nothing to beat a pile of poop like the Padres.

Brewers are the easy choice man
25
u/justthekoufax Sandy Koufax 6h ago
Such an easy choice. I don't hate the Brewers at all. I fucking hate the Padres.
13
u/lollifetuffouthtere Mookie Betts 6h ago
Exactly. I’d be more upset if the Dodgers got knocked out by the Padres rather than the Brewers.

u/spicyitallian 5h ago
But who is the easiest matchup for the dodgers? Actually asking cuz this is my first year watching anything but the world series
1
u/Salt_Driver_4537 4h ago
Probably the Padres. No offense to them because they are a solid team, but they have trouble driving in runs when they get runners on board. On the flip side, Brewers have a similar offensive style to the 2025 Blue Jays, and we saw how much trouble that was for the Dodgers last year. Also, Misiorowski (Brewers best starter) is genuinely terrifying.

I think the Brewers are overrated. We’d beat them like we did last season

I’m watching this series and cheering hard for the Brewers.
My reasons:
1. I never want Manny Machado to win anything, EVER.
2. I’ve been to 23/30 MLB stadiums, and the fans in Milwaukee were BY FAR the coolest, and most welcoming of any place we’ve been outside of Dodger Stadium. I’m happy for them.
3. We swept them last year, I believe we can do it again.
4. F**k Manny Machado. Yes. That’s on there twice.

Looooooooool Mason Miller is just Edwin Diaz in disguise

Brewers overall, because I don’t want the Padres to experience anything resembling hope or joy.
But I do also want them to win the next two at Petco and tire each other out.

u/SouthPudding9949 Mookie Betts 6h ago
They gotta study how the Padres have abused Mason Miller. They left him out there to throw two innings and 40 pitches. After riding him hard all year. We did it last year with Roki but he's a defacto starter.
This was a brutal... and enjoyable way to finish the game. Oof.

u/PurpleDirt4 Alex Vesia 6h ago
I mean you could argue miller is a starting top (he at least has been)

u/threepwood52 Tommy Edman 6h ago
It might make it harder for us in the next round but I NEVER want to see San Diego win.

u/PostVertigo Max Muncy 6h ago
Brewers. Easy decision.

u/Razor8517 2025 World Series Champions 6h ago edited 6h ago
Very true. Their offense is poo-poo in October. Dodgers could easily beat them

dodgers gotta take care of atlanta first but damn the brewers are kinda scary and walking it off against miller solidified that.

u/Ravenholm_337 6h ago
Brewers have real history with L.A. padres have a 100+ win deficit against L.A.
I hate the brewers but at least they belong in the conversation.

I want brewers. Only cause I'm tired of seeing those other bums.

Hopefully their series go the full 5 games and extra innings.
Now I'm rooting for the Padres to take the next 2 at home.

Chourio's AB reminded me of Pages vs Miller in May when Andy was able to get a sac fly after a great AB.

u/WarbossTodd Vin Scully 6h ago
Padres need to come back and win the next 2 at home. In extra inning, marathon games.

I can find a dude I like and can root for on every team in the MLB.
Except the padres.

Always a great day when the padres lose, especially when it's two days in a row

u/oldchicken34 Yoshinobu Yamamoto 6h ago
initially i wanted the brewers to win cuz they always shit the bed against the dodgers, while the padres were hot. but now seeing how they choked 2 games away, i don't care either way. hope they go to a five game series.

Brewers of course. And they don’t scare me because they haven’t faced Snell or Glasnow at all this year, and they were shut down by Yoshi in two attempts (scoring one run each time). They did beat Skubal twice (one of them when he was with Tigers) but I like our odds with these four guys against their weak lineup.

u/ComoEstanBitches Shohei Ohtani 5h ago
I know Padres have a history for converting relievers into starters but Mason Miller gets gassed after 20 pitches

The Brewers were literally the best team in league, record-wise. Not saying I’m alright with losing, but if we were to lose to them, it wouldn’t be the biggest shocker. But if we lose to the Padres……..we’ll never hear the end of it. They still talk about 2022 to this day.

Don’t ever gamble
Why?
You’ll go with feeling and more than likely you’ll lose.

u/bruceriv68 Steve Garvey 6h ago
That's easy. It's always great to see the Padres self destruct, and the Brewers are a likeable team.

I want the Dodgers V Padres series

u/Fragrant_University7 Vin Scully 6h ago
Disagreed. They’d be the easier opponent, but I don’t even want them to have hope. I want them to sit at home sulking while we play.

That was a great game, the kinda shit you see in a movie. Lets worry about the current task at hand though
