There should be an age limit at like 65

u/Historical_Date_1314 9h ago
Well 65 is retirement age, but apparently these coffin dodgers are immune
2
u/prowler1369 9h ago
65 for now.

u/Historical_Date_1314 9h ago
My retirement age will be 68 (currently) (UK). 😳.
I’d like to retire after 60 if I can.1
u/carlnepa 9h ago edited 9h ago
Not really, RonOLD Reagan Administration raised it to 67 from birth year 1960. You can retire sooner but will receive reduced Social Security benefits. Edit to clarify 67 is current SS retirement age.

u/Historical_Date_1314 9h ago
But c’mon Trump is now 80 and Mitch McConnell is 84.
Trump is constantly falling asleep and Mitch looks like a zombie
JFK was in his 40’s when he was elected.

At the age of 65, a pilot is required to retire because it would be unsafe otherwise. Our entire government is run by people over that age

Or more importantly, a physical fitness test.

I'd like this to be held at the commencement. If fatty can't run a half mile, he can't be president, and we all get to watch him try.

In the last ten years our country has been in a steady decline. I wonder what's changed?

u/Zak_Rahman 7h ago
A lot of things came to fruition.
Citizens united alone doesn't change everything overnight. It still requires time for financial and political momentum to build up.
Same with the stacking of the supreme court. It was a severe problem that needed handling by Obama - that was the last chance to stop it.
A lot of things came together in a ways that lead to how things are today. Fundamentally, it is narcissism leading to a total lack of accountability leading to unfettered capitalism.
Once capitalism is in control, then it's game over. At that point the Russians and Israelis can exert an insane amount of influence both directly and via the media industry (Murdoch, meta, Twitter etc).
Same thing with my country, mind you. I had no idea just how dangerous Thatcher and Blair were at the time. No idea at all.

Imagine the outrage if these were Democrats

u/cynicalicoffee 59m ago
And you know that as soon as we have democrats controlling things again, they'll be all "terrrm limits! age and health matter now! we need our representatives to meet a comically narrow list of requirements all of a sudden! like if they've ever owned a cat then they've been exposed to a made-up spore that we're going to create a pandemic about, so they can't hold office!" Or some other equally stupid rules a nine-year-old comes up with on the playground.

And sleepy Joe Biden was the problem
To be clear, Biden was never my choice, and I think he should have retired after the Obama years. But it's wild that that's what took him out, and now we're stuck with demented/comatose.
similar to all the buttery males crap

Just try to name another country where the people would let this happen! Not here ffs!

Not just the GOP. We should stop electing politicians who want to die in office (and are likely to.) We need people who are invested in the future. 60 and 70 y/o people are waiting out the clock.

They’d rather stay in Washington and continue to destroy America. Well Mitch doesn’t know where he is. So who knows what he wants

I'd be happy just to restrict convicted felons, adjudicated rapists, and/or pedophiles from even running for office in the first place.

Just an old folks home with archaic ideals and people with zero backbone. This is America, I'm not paying my taxes to support toxic geriatrics.

Well unless Talarico is going to run for president, the left really doesn't have a strong candidate themselves

Old white men? I mean it's been going on for 250 years just in the United States alone. The United States was founded by racist old white men.

u/s0ciety_a5under 2h ago
It says a lot that the party is veering older and older each year. The youth are brainwashed, a lot of the time when they leave the environment they were raised in they change their opinions. Hence the whole "liberal college" meme that has propagated within the conservative community. It's a wild thing that gaining knowledge of other people and their cultures that you gain empathy and appreciation for them.

u/VastFig965 5h ago
Are you serious? Biden looked like the Crypt Keeper and the Dems voted him in for a 2nd term!

u/SteakAndEggsMcMuffin 3h ago
Mitch has always been a rino and never represented the Republican party.

u/jfkrfk123 8h ago

u/Confron7a7ion7 8h ago
Yeah, he was old a fuck and couldn't do another term. So he was convinced to step down. What's you're argument?
-1
u/jfkrfk123 8h ago
I’m not arguing. It’s just funny. He was old a fuck but he was padding his years of experience just a bit. It’s funny
1
u/Dry_Combination4070 7h ago
It is funny that republicans constantly bring up biden while trump is sleepig half the time and says crazy shit like Muslim republic of Japan.
It's funny how every single thing republcians cried about they're doing.
Like the pedos theyre protecting or inflation and gas prices hell the debt every single thing.
1
u/jfkrfk123 7h ago
That’s what I’m sayin. It’s funny.
1
u/Dry_Combination4070 7h ago
