Discussion Do cricketers actually live as healthy as they show?
Are professional cricketers really that strict with their lifestyle? Like, do none of them drink or smoke at all, or do they just keep it private?

News Bangladesh is playing a 2-day red ball practice match against the UAE as preparation for their one-off Test match against Afghanistan in Dubai.
As of the latest, Bangladesh are 164/6 after the end of the second session, it was actually a collapse as they were 90/0 at the end of the first session.
If anything, stuff like this should only mean that Test Cricket does not deserve to be gatekept as hard as it currently is seeing as UAE is one of the worst teams in the League 2(the 4-year long associate ODI tournament via which they get qualification to the ODI WC Qualifier) so there are associates that are much better than them in a longer format.

Back-to-back titles for Toronto and it was the Nepali captain Indu Barma to hit the winning runs for them.

Discussion What's perpetuating the Cricket is dead in Australia myth and that Cricket is effectively a 2 nation sport in the subcontinent?
I hear this take a lot as an Aussie cricket fan and it's almost laughable that people think the only countries that care about cricket are in the subcontinent (India and Pakistan). I think this mindset is harmful as it diminishes the value of the sport and the accomplishments it carries. For example, winning the ODI World Cup or WTC is highly prestigious in my eyes, but I see it's value being diminished as people are like "oh, but only 12-ish countries play this sport and most of them don't care that much about it". That's why it's important to fix this mindset and show that this sport is growing
Over 850,000 attended the Ashes Test Matches in Australia last year (with only 2 day games in Melbourne and Perth so it could've easily been over a million) and over a million people attended the Big Bash. 180,000 people attended the India v Aus ODI+T20 series.
The 3rd ODI in Sydney sold out, 1st T20 in Canberra sold out, 2nd ODI in Adelaide effectively sold out, and the Brisbane and Melbourne T20s also effectively sold out.
For the Ashes, Sydney Days 1, 2,3 and 4 sold out. In Brisbane, days 1, 2 and 3 sold out. In Adelaide, day 1, 2 and 3 sold out. In Perth, day 1 sold out. And in Melbourne, both days 1 and 2 sold out.
Australia v South Africa. 1st T20 in Darwin, sold out. 3rd T20 in Cairns, sold out. 2nd ODI in Mackay, sold out. 3rd ODI in Mackay, sold out.
Records broken in Australia in the 2025-2026 summer of cricket:
- 211,032 people attended the Sydney Test, the highest cricket attendance at the SCG
- 94,199 people attended day 1 of the Melbourne Test, the highest opening day attendance
- Cricket Australia broke the all time single day opening ticket sales record, selling 311,066 tickets in 24 hours
- The free-to-air broadcast reached 14.2 million Australians, averaging 1.19 million viewers per Test
- Foxtel reported that the first Test in Perth instantly became the most-streamed Test match and Test day in Kayo Sports history
I think it's important to acknowledge the game's growth and also important to note that in most countries outside the subcontinent, Cricket is not a 12 month sport, it's a summer sport, so this attendance is great. If anything, cricket is more alive now than it was 10 years ago, and t20 is bringing a lot of fans into the sport, and test/ODI are retaining current fans. I think cricket is going great right now - not dead at all.
I'm not gonna pull statistics for England, as I don't know much about England as I don't live there but cricket is also similarly culturally important there, and I would assume the same for South Africa, New Zealand etc.

Original Content Cricket Ground in Khost, Afghanistan
This is a post by Afghanistan Cricket Board official's Channel.
I am absolutely amazed and spellbound to see the interest of Afghan people in the province of Khost.
I genuinely hope Afghanistan gets to host a cricket match soon, keeping tight security in check and can host teams like India, South Africa, Pakistan, etc.
