This is a stock PS5, never opened—its seals were intact, though it was very dusty. My client brought it to me because the liquid metal had already failed, but they also mentioned that moving the HDMI cable caused the image to flicker. As you can see, everything else on the board has good solder, but the HDMI port has no tin on its contacts. Let me tell you, guys: this isn't the first one I've seen like this, and it probably won't be the last, which is really sad.

Is this most probably a faulty laser? I'm also concerned about the spinning motor but my main assumption is the laser

Hello everyone. I have a PS3 super slim that I hadn't powered on in a long time, and now that I did it's acting up.

So what happens is,you plug it in, press the power button, It shows nothing on the screen, and after 30 seconds it turns off. It doesn't ylod or rlod, it just stays on the green light, and then turns off.

Could anyone tell what this could be? I have never seen this behaviour on a ps3 before.

After doing a favor for a colleague at the factory, he gave me a bunch of old Nintendo DS parts (he knows I like tinkering, even though I'm still learning). Among other things, I found all the parts to build a Zelda-edition NDSL (needless to say, I'm thrilled—it's my favorite game series)... but also a pink DSi that's pretty beat-up but complete (it has likely been opened before, judging by the state of the bottom screen).

I'd like to charge it to check if it works and see if it's worth restoring, but the charging port is missing a pin (see photo).

Can I still plug it in to charge, or does that pose a risk?

​I have a TriStar 3-in-1 adapter on my SNES and I'm running into a persistent video issue. Whenever I play any type of cart through the adapter, I get faint diagonal lines slowly scrolling across the screen.

I don't have any issues with this SNES without the adapter hooked up to it, so I know it's not the SNES itself causing the noise natively. The interference seems completely isolated to the extra load of the TriStar unit.

​Has anyone else run into this specific rolling noise issue with a TriStar? Any advice on what to check or how to fix it would be hugely appreciated!

I am stuck and could use some help. I purchased a broken Switch Lite that had a destroyed charge port. I successfully swapped out the charge port and everything seemed to work perfectly except when I went to test the inputs.

The left joystick will not respond. The click down responds but it won’t respond to any movement (left, right, up, down).

Steps taken:
Replaced joystick
Replaced daughter board
Replaced ribbon cable
The ribbon cable connector on the motherboard looks great.

Any ideas?

this original xbox doesn’t immediately respond to a single power/eject button press, you have to hold down one of the 2 buttons to get it to power up, and no it’s not trace damage or bad capacitors or bad buttons or any of that stuff you see everywhere, it’s a very weird and probably undocumented behavior. I spent the last month looking for anyone having the same problem with their xbox on reddit and even on forums but I couldn’t find anything, I suspected a bad crystal oscillator because the timing of the green and red LEDs was too slow but that didn’t fix it, also the console doesn’t display any video signal on the TV… if you have any suggestions or ideas as to why this is happening please comment below, I would greatly appreciate it

Hey so I'm looking for help diagnosis my ps2 fat console the first issue is that it when I press the power on button I only get audio ( through a hdmi converter to a pc monitor) but if I press the power on button again after hearing the starting music I get video aswell as audio ( not sure if the display out port is on its way out iv tried cleaning the port too) after the restart its works fine. Second issue is that when I first press the eject button it will take a few seconds then it will shoot out very quickly and I can hear the motor spinning. If I press the eject button agian when this is happening it does nothing but if I restart it will work fine ( not sure if I need to lude the eject gears). Any help would be much appreciated

I’ve researched this issue with clicking sound. Mine is a BDM020 and it only happens on the left side. I just got this back from having TMR sticks installed and all of the controller functions work perfectly aside from this issue.
I’ve taken apart and I don’t see any damage to either ribbon cable. No missing teeth on the gears and I’m not experienced enough to know what to check next.

Would I just be better off replacing the entire thing? I’ve checked other posts and saw a lot of different cases.

years ago the charging port stopped working so i unsoldered it off and the solder pads ended up coming off as i had the soldering iron too hot. how can i go along and repair this? or am i toast? or is it possible to just rewire it somehow to usb c?

So previously it would flash when I manually pull the tray out. Now it only flashes when I press the button but the tray doesnt eject. It seems like the white gear doesnt move so maybe thats the issue? I'm kinda stuck.

Hey, I've got this fat PS Vita that I'd like to get in good shape and I'll start with the screen cos' it has many scratches, nothing really deep tho. My first thought was replacing the whole part but I found that apparently a good polish might do the job.

I don't have any experience with this polish thing so I'm not sure if the scratches will come off.

Any advices?

I currently have the problem where my CDs only read when the console is upside down (DVDs still work fine) so I'm currently trying to reduce the resistance a little bit and cleaned the lens, rails, and gear (feel free to chime in with other suggestions). I'm now putting it back together (I only loosened the laser nothing else) and noticed these 2 white plastic pieces that look like they belong on some kind of switch but I didn't notice them while disassembling and I don't see them on the iFixit site either. Anyone know where they belong?

I have replaced the top screen on my New 3ds Xl and on start the screen flashes bright white then dims down to basically off and only shows white with a small blue circle in the bottem right corner.

I have unplugged all the connectors through the hinge and repluged the 2 small cables next to one of the speakers.

I have no idea what the issue could be here as the screen seems to work fine.

Any advice appreciated.

Turns on fine as shown. I haven’t repaired anything in a while so I’m looking for an expert as to what they think the disc tray issue could be.

pulled my pikachu n64 from storage, it was in terrible condition. the metal wells were all rusted up but the board survived (almost) unscathed. aside from needing parts replaced, like the AV and AC ports, the only stubborn rust parts are on the edge of the fiberglass, and i can't seem to find any information on how to either clean it off or if it will harm the board long-term.
rust spots have been treated with vinegar and IPA, scrubbing seems ineffective, haven't tried a fiberglass pen yet.

Est ce que si je refais fondre la soudure ca la referais fonctionner, y a t il un autre problème que les connaisseurs pourrais voir.

I recently acquired a super slim that has hdmi problems, it doesn’t display red colors through the hdmi but will through the analog. I reflowed the hdmi port although it liked fine. The filters are also fine but I went ahead and reflowed them as well. When reading the pins in diode mode pins 6 and 12 show abnormal readings. Pin 6 reads .528 and pin 12 shows OL. Anyone run into this problem. Also disc reader won’t read discs, it spins them but won’t read. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

So, my dreamcast modem has died and i don't know where to start repairing it. The dreamcast doesn't even recognize it anymore and i cleaned the g2 bus port and the modem port. I reflowed the pins on both dreamcast motherboard and modem
