WWW What’s Working and What Isn’t? | Friday, October 02, 2026 - Sunday, October 04, 2026
Discuss what you are playing, what you’re having success with(or failures with), and any new/cool ideas you’ve been experimenting with, etc. The point is to share what you’ve been playing, and how it’s going, good or bad - there are no other rules or requirements.
Some ideas on what to post/share:
- What you’ve been playing and its successes (or struggles). Stats are not required. There is no minimum rank required, though sharing what rank you’ve been playing at is preferred.
- Deck adjustments you made or are planning to make in reaction to the meta or as new innovation. E.g. “I saw 30% of deck X, so I made Y changes to help deal with deck X.” (change)
- Showing off a deck you achieved legend with this season and wanting to share it without having to write a guide

What's not working: any varient of imbue shaman. I'm a silly fool for even trying to experiment, despite many sad days of trying.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The slewth of pirate warriors, dragon pirate warriors and herald pirate warriors, as well as all the forms of priest (absolutely ridiculously levels of overpowered and endless value machine) are ruining this standard at the moment. Coming back after leaving during United in Stormwind, I feel like nothing has changed. If anything, the game has gotten worse. Super boring meta, no matter how well you play it feels like it's a luck of the draw whether you make any progress past d5
Sad. Sticking to battlegrounds until the new expansion, and i'm DEFINITELY NOT PREPURCHASING. Not spending $70 AUD on the game while the meta is anything CLOSE to this

What isn’t working is my desire to play the game. There’s plenty of variety in the meta, but none of it is fun unless you’re a degenerate.

Highroll simulator. It felt annoying to get bad knife juggler luck but when every RNG mechanic has insanely high variance you get a lot more non-games, even if the overall win rates among decks seem balanced.
Hard counters and crazy highrolls remove meaningful decisions from the game, and those two traits basically sum up a good portion of the last few years of HS.
I enjoyed some leyline mage before taking another break and that’s a perfect example. Hard countered by any aggro, relies on significant draw variance to even have a shot at enacting its gameplan, then relies on significant outcome variance on draw discounts, random damage and big minion generation. Multi-stage slot machine masquerading as a game.
The main difference with the better decks is that they have less variance in building toward their game plan, like the many ways Druid can keep the attacks rolling which also deal with the board and/or apply pressure, or the warrior aggro curve. Those decks reach their highroll payoff turn faster and more consistently than a bad deck like leyline, so the highrolls hit harder and the low rolls aren’t as punishing.
