旅游 | Travel Itinerary for a first time visitor

Hey guys :)

I am planning on travelling to China for three weeks between October 15th, 2027, and November 5th, 2027. As I have to let my boss know by Wednesday when I want to take time off next year, I would love to know what you guys think of China during this time of year. Or should I go at a different time? I don't like heat all that much and I want to avoid tourist season.

My itinerary:
Shanghai: 5 nights (with a day trip to Suzhou) Zhangjiajie: 4 nights
Chongqing: 3 nights
XiAn: 3 nights
Beijing: 5 nights

As for my itinerary: do you guys think this is sensible, or is it too packed? My goal is to do a bit of everything: see the nature, visit some historical sights, go shopping, and see the cool city lights. I am not sure if adding Chongqing would be too ambitious... I am nervous that I will be spending all of my time on trains and planes.

Thank you so much for your help!
