CDS gave me two littermates: Temur & Orbit 💕

[u/diet_faust]

My street has a mix of strays and indoor/outdoor cats that have been consistent over the years. A Mama had a litter of five and she started bringing them to my house for breakfast a couple months ago when the heat here was insane (Dallas, TX). A friend of ours took three to be re-homed but Temur (mackerel tabby) already was bonded to me and Orbit (the void) was scared of people but loved Temur. As I got Temur acclimated to being indoors, I’d let her out to be with Orbit who literally never left my porch.

Since storms were coming and these two had literally never seen rain in their lives, decided it was time to see if Orbit would have the courage to come inside to avoid the weather and lo and behold.

Temur is so happy her brother is with her. He gets less scared and more curious every day. 💕

Temur is a unique name 😊 how did you choose that?

[u/diet_faust → u/honeybeelioness]

It’s the name of a color wedge in Magic: the Gathering!

Nice. I looked it up and it means iron.

Appropriate as she is tough 💪

Absolutely adorable! They're beautiful little kitties, I'm so happy you took them in. I have no doubt your little void will settle in and be comfortable and happy and loving in no time! I'm happy the other 3 have homes too.

Does your neighborhood coordinate with a rescue to TNR the strays?

[u/diet_faust → u/whatthewhat3214]

Yes! The whole street is pretty in on it. Lots of clipped ears. I’ve been on this street for almost five years now? And not a single kitty is a stranger.

That's great! I hope the ones that can find homes do, I'm glad they're taken care of.

Orbit soaked up all the ink. So cute! They both are.

So sweet!

Love Temur's bleep in 2nd Pic

Orbit is such a cute name! Did you land on that because, as you said, he never left the porch and was just orbiting around? Asking for a friend so when he names a cat Orbit he will be able to answer the same question :)

I was struggling to come up with a name for him and had my roommate take a crack at the task. He looked in his eyes for one second and went "Orbit". Probably because he reminds him of the vast outer space! But I think because he was just orbiting around my porch is perfect too.

Love it!
