Is it possible to still enroll in a late Start class with a petition for exception?

So as of right now, I do not have any classes. I checked the class schedule, and there are two late start classes. I tried adding the normal way, but since late registration has closed, I am unable to do that. Would emailing the two professors with the Petition for exception enable me to enroll in those two classes?
