Dog(s) He said we absolutely could not keep her
That was eight months ago. This is her reaction to him getting back from the shop.

There is truly nothing like coming home to your pup(s)

So many bad days flipped to great days the second I walked in the door. I know I’m not the only one.

I came home today for only the 2nd time in a week. Wife has been in hospital and now hospice for 10 days. Everything in my life seems awful but the pup greeting me, demanding and giving love made my day.

I’m so sorry your wife is in hospice. Sending love and best wishes to you and your family.

What a well behaved little gal! That floppy puppy excitement just never ever gets old. I have a 3 yo doodle that acts exactly like this except she's 53 lbs lol

I don't care how much you don't want an animal- having someone that unconditionally happy just to see you is healing to your soul. Such true and honest love is a gift.

My dad said he hated smaller dogs, but he loved my (unfortunately deceased after about 16 years together)pup and would sneak him salami and cheese whenever I’d take him to visit. He also said he hated cats but I saw otherwise when he thought no one was watching. To be fair, 2 of the cats we had loved peeing on his suits before work or a trip, but he’d give the tabby that did that belly rubs and my tortie who didn’t all the scritches.

Yes, it’s obvious he absolutely cannot stand her. /s

I think his ploy all along was, we ain't keeping it. We will foster until it finds a home. We know...lil pup has already found its home!

And she's not even a barker!

u/Lexi_Banner 12d ago
My last dog is a barker (Kevin's still alive, he was just kidnapped by grandma). My two new dogs (which I got because of said kidnapping) are NOT barkers. It is such a quiet life now! And when Kevin comes for a visit, I can't believe I lived with that noise machine for twelve years! LOL

They just know who to win over...
I had to leave my dogs with my parents since I moved out of the country. One of them passed away, he had some health issues and was getting old, but the other has become my dad's dog, and I fear I will never be able to take him back...
But they were, and are, loved and spoiled, so in the end, it's OK.

I feel this. I moved home to take care of my parents and my cat almost instantly became my dad’s cat. Follows him like a shadow, sleeps on his bed. The not-a-lap-cat sits in his lap all the time. Not the girl who raised him for 10 years 😆. I love the bond they have though. It’s so precious!

Awwwww who could not keep her she's the sweetest Lil 💗 dog i would definitely keep him her i would find a way that helped her him have a home ❤️ alot of pets don't have homes they're in shelters so think before you can't take in any animal large or small they deserve to be happy to

A couple of days ago, my SIL sent me a picture of my brother asleep on the sofa with the stray that “they were never going to keep” and then, “was never allowed in the house”. The dog was on his back sleeping spread eagle after a nice nutritious blackstone grilled meal of unseasoned chicken and veggies. lol

So darn adorable! My Staffy was the same, and would grab what ever was nearby and bring it to me, or my son when he got home.
He once ran to the kitchen and brought him the dust pan. 😅

Do Americans really just come in from the outside with their shoes and step on carpet? Canadian asking. Cause wtf.

Yeah. We're softies no matter how hard we try. The 2 black voids causing heck on my living room and furniture speaks to this. Do I wish they didn't destroy all the things, yes. Would I trade any of the time with them for anything? Y'all know that answer.
And don't be silly, they're still with us... today 😆

God I miss my girl. She passed a few months ago. She was an old lady. I miss when she was a spritely little pup like this. What a life she had. Cherish your doggies. I miss her kissing her head and her soft little ears.

I love it, i understand it, ive done it.
but if you wanna train yer pup to not have separation anxiety when you leave you need to only give it direct feedback on arrival when its in that calm submissive state. Its an extremely valuable training opportunity every time you come home—and one way or the other you are training a behavior.
Now some dogs dont ruin yer house if theyre trained to this behavior, but thats like a luck of the draw thing.
